The bloke from 3g brakes just sold me some Mintex 1144 pads (fronts) to go with my 20GR discs.

ย

I've heard these are quite a hard compound?

Anyone used them and will they wear out my new discs in a few weeks?

Featured Replies

I haven't used these personally but have heard that they are brilliant pads and won't think that they would waer out your disks mate but obviously someone with the firsthand experience could probably advise you better

I used Mintex pads with my 3g 20's. They've been excellent but I got them from a local supplier and cant remember the reference so may be a different grade. Only about ยฃ35 too. They're now about half worn.

They make a bit of a "rrrrrr" noise when you brake really hard but I guess thats more to do with the grooves.

Had 'em on my 205 and found that they were good, but gave a pretty wooden pedal feel when pushed hard. Made it a bit hard to judge when you were trying not to lock them up.

Lasted ages though.

I have 1144 they arent harsh and i find give a decent pedal feel...gonna try 1155 next time see what the 'harsher' compund is like, 1144 are good ive found :) although some people i know dont like them. Same with everything, good and bad stories...if youve got em, just try em ;)

Cheerz chaps, they're on their way anyway, so just wanted to know what to expect. These were around 80 quid, half the price of the 3g discs, so whatever wears will be expensive!
