Just ran over a badger & was inspecting for damage under the bonnet & noticed a disconnected conector (not badger related). it is top left corner & goes into a square thing with a tube coming out that in turn goes to a round thing. (clear!!!!) What is it? AND should i plug it in?

You talking about near the battery?

If so I have this too and its not connect to anything on mine.

Stuart

are these imports or UK models?

its strange, on mr2s their is a connector in the engine bay which is connected on one but not the other, no idea what it does though

...was the badger dead or alive when you ran over it? The thing that might need plugging in could be part of the control mechanism for the air intake valves (or whatever they are called) under each front wheel arch. Live dangerously and plug it in.

good luck

Jack

...I ran over a pigeon last week - I think it was already dead when I hit it. It finished up inside the front scoop. How did you manage to get over the badger?

Does the stock boost guage work???

CheerZ,

Does your cruise control work?

Does that round thing have a wire coming out which controls the throttle err rod thing.?

Thanks guys!

questions answered: Badger was dead! couldnt avoid it. all other cars cleared it easily but of course with the clearance of a very thin thats thin i hit it!

z dumped fluid over drive but as yet havnt discoverd what.

Boost gauge works ok.

Cruise dosnt! but been delimited. does that matter?

and yes cable/pipe seems to go towards throttle thingy.

so guessing cruise contol??????

Well i'd say try connecting up!

When i've had half of the stuff in the corner out (usually trying to route wires though to the dash) for some reason that's usually the connector i forget to click together.

ok! I ll try it!

though bit concerned about fluid loss. Cant identify it. not oil not gearbox oil. no warnings.

sort of coolanty looking but water level seems ok.

any ideas?

It's not simply water from the aircon is it?

If coolant it should have some colour to it. You say it's not oil.

If you have the aircon on they will drip alot of water, aircon takes the water vapour out of the air and drips it everywhere. [Hey that rhymes! :p ]

dont hink so. no more has apeared but will check under soon as poss.

reconnected conector & nothing happened!

Cruise still not working. (not a problem though)

chris, ive got an 89 tt import aswell so i'll have a look in my engine bay and see if i can spot what you've described.

at least then you'll have a better idea of whether it's supposed to be connected on imports or not. trouble is i wont probably see the car till tomorrow night though.
