Driving home the other day, sun shining, T-bar off, tunes pumped up, noticed an odd racket. Turned the music off and theres an almight clacking and rattling coming from the back. Swiftly check gauges, OK, into neutral rev the engine, sweet, slow down and stop the racket stopped. Round the car and it turns out the abortion of a rear fog lamp that was fitted when I bought the car has sheered off on its mountings and was dangling by its cable onto the floor (not surprised it was making a racket, but was VERY surprized it was in one piece!!).

Any my question is this - I never liked that bloody ugly light hanging down, so is there a conversion that I can do to make a couple of the reversing lights into fog lights. I like the symetry of the car so one either side would be better. If not would everything still work if I just tinted the white lense on one side to red and rewired that bulb?

Cheers

hi i just put my z through mot with reverse lights as fog s quite simple to do just put a switch on the dash somewhere (mines under steering wheel on the cowl make sure it lilluminates when turned to on . then run wires to yr side lights then unplug the wires to yr reversing lights and connect th wires from yr switch and there you go ,,plus u can always reconnect the plugs for yr reversing lamps after mot ,, cully z:D :D :D

forgot to tell u i also paid £3.00 for a couple of red bulbs ok :) :D

Unfortunately for us symmetrical types, there's only one bulb on each side of the car, each servicing the two slots on their respective sides.

A better way might be to just swap the white bulb for a red one. That's the way mine has been done and, when the fog's off, the car looks no different unless you look really closely.

Or do what Cully suggested :)
