Finally cracked the Corvette on both the 60m & 100m wet circuits. IMHO the 100M is easier. I find it easier to do these tests with the manual transmission option.

If only I could get that 911 round the 'complex string' now smile.gif

Tim, if its any help, watch the demo's of the hard bastard license tests, it'll give you clues as to what you need to do. That roundabout test's a nightmare till you watch demo-bloke do it and see what speed you have to maintain to get around it.

Trying to get the Nissan GT1 race car around Monaco in the special license was bloody impossible with an auto box - then watched the demo driver cheating his arse off using a manual to stop the car downshifting too far on the slow corners and doing donuts at every exit!

Couldn't face it last night, just raced and raced instead in my 197bhp Yaris 1.5J...LMAO!

Won another car via Weekend Cup or whatever it's called, a lovely MX-5 which got sold asap for a few more mods.

About another 15K needed for the Z monster, can't wait! Suppose I'll have to have a proper crack at the Vette tonight. Preferably before consuming any alcohol!

Timmy Timmy,

This might be a bad time to tell ya this Bro but holding on to the MX5 aint a bad idea as it gets ya a by into the FR class cup and the Convertibles and Roadsters cup that you may not be able to access if you only have the Yaris - both those cups are quiet easy and have decent prize money.

Got my steering wheel last night - boy is actually driving in a straight line hard - small directional changes are impossible on it frown.gif

might have to go back into Pad land soon - Need to get to stage 3 asap smile.gif

Nico 91TT.

Oh Nico(bearer of arse news!) wish I new that before LAST night mate...LOL!

If anyone else has any valid points worth sharing with the rest of us, now might be a good time.

My Mrs. bought me a PS1 for Crimbo few years back with Vrally and a bollox steering wheel and dodgey little plastic-fantastic pedals...result? Impossible to use, more unnecessary frustration than necessary so sold it on a boot fair following weekend. Always played better with the controller! Hope this doesn't put a downer on all that are having the same experience!

OK, a week has passed so where are we all up to?

I have the Beetle Cup, the Merc`s and that`ll be the beginners section finished.

Found a good way to get some cash in the bank, the World Championship, as Tooly said is where the money is at 10,000 a race if you win, however to win these races you need something heaverly modded.

Get something like a Skyline up to 550 BHP (that`s what i used) and go for an endurance race (you will need hard tyres as tyre wear plays a part). Pick an easy one like the oval ring, it will take just over the hour to win BUT 200,000 first prize and a random motor with it. I got a Ford XR8 race car which i used in the world championship and pissed on everything. (one of the cars you can win here is the secret F1 car !!!)

Another tip, when you enter races with a series of races to enter, enter the championship but save the game b4 the last race, when you win the last race you get a random car, if it`s not what you want re-start and load the game back up, you then only have to run the last race to have another car to either keep or sell.

Keep doing this `till you get the car you want.

Hope this helps, got me a few quid in the bank and made the big championship easier, plus can buy and mod the cars for the last couple of races.

Later

Bob

with my thumb now in tatters i've got the tommi makkinen rally car the lancer rally car prototype at leat three gt lm race cars and the opel stinger racing car.....do the endurance races well worth the cars and the money but be warned its a solid two hours of playing and even when johnny and i took it in turns its still difficult as you have to stay on it to be able to pit and still stand a chance........stick to medium front and medium hard rubber rears in all professional races

Top tips there from our man Bob -

Hope you will be at billing tommorow Pal - need somewhere to keep track of the F1 Qualifiying smile.gif

Cool, cheerZ BOB and TOOLEY, I'm lagging way behind at this moment in time, still haven't passed the sodding Corvette on the vaseline roundabouts(wimp!) and still stuck with the ARSE Yaris monster(monster being referred to as about as scarey as Cookey Monster!) but still lovin' it large!

Don't worry Nico, if Bob can't make it, I'll be watching the F1 in my car. You're welcome to join me.

BTW, I've just saved up for a 300ZX in GT3 (a red, 2+2 auto with JWT like all the best Z's). Been finding it much easier since ditching the Beetle!

And for all you PS2 and Ferrari loving types out there, I've got some great news. Ferrari 355 Challenge is coming to the PS2 shortly. Can't wait.

Andy
