Iv`e been told my car is still set up for R12

Can you tell me the cost,parts needed,and whats involved

for a conversion.Shame I can`t get someone to refill with R12!

i have conversion kits - they cost £25+vat (cost price to me) & consist of 2 new connectors & tubes of oil that actually change the oil thats used for R12 at the molecular level to be compatible with R134a

the only problem i can see (on zeds) is that where they fit one of the service valves is quite tight & the connectors on R134a service equipment is a bit bulky.

on top of this you will need R134a gas (we charge £50/kg) + fitting.

Tyre size recommendations

245 on an 8J will look like a balloon on a 8j….. an 8J is only 204mm wide

The tyres you currently have a 2% smaller in diameter and circumference that the OEM wheel/tyre combo

Personally would be looking at a 225/45r17. Plenty of very nice tyre options and only 0.4% different diameter from OEM size

Suggestions for Potential Valved Exhaust

Personally I wouldn't bother mate!
Valved systems are fine where they are an OEM fit on new cars, but why waste cash trying to replicate that on an older car which sounds pretty decent from the box.
Go and speak to Infinity (the guys next to Jim) and get them to custom build a "normal" system for you. I did and I am very pleased with the result.
My old Mongoose was too intrusive at cruising speeds, so Infinity fabricated one with extra resonators at the front, which made cruising quieter from inside the car. They then used smaller silencers at the rear, so the best of the noise is out back. If I want to have a little fun and enjoy the rumble, I just open the windows.
No fancy switches to mess around with, it looks good, sounds good (without the added knob-headed attention seeking function) and only cost £600 all in.

Tyre size recommendations

Hi Rob,
for the wheel sizes you have, and to keep the rolling circumferences close, fronts should be 45 profile - go for 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear. You'll find plenty of options with those sizes. That's what I ran when I had the same 17 inch Azevs on my red Zed😉
You might get 265/40/17 on the rear - but brand options may be fewer.
It all follows when you upgrade wheel diameter, you keep the width and drop 5% in profile - I have 18s and my fronts are 235/40/18.

Mine was originally blue, and I done a full break down and refurb with a full respray to purple.
