I had the cambelt changed about a week ago, and with that the water and radiator was taken out hence new water and anti freeze.

Anyway, we all know that you should check your water levels for a few days after to make sure there where no air pockets. I did check it every day, but sitting in traffic today I noticed the water temp was getting a little high, about 90ºC. It got to 100ºC and I stopped and turned the engine off and checked the water levels again, the 2nd time that day, and poured about half a of water in to top it up. However, my dash water gauge was still showing normal temperature. Imagine if I didnt have that other gauge, I would have been driving round with not enough water in, and with it over heating.

Lucky I think.
