During heavy rain I get leaks at the junction of the T-top to window area. I have inspected the seals, they look ok, I lubricated them with that Holts Rubber Lubricant.

Are there any 'fixes' for this problem, any mods to the lever mechanism that would clamp the tops tighter ?

NO!! - it was deffo peanut butter!! tho it was the oil in it that softened the rubber

Hi John

Had the same problem with mine, cured it by smearing DC4 silicon grease on the ends of each rubber, so when they meet water can't run between the two.

Hope this makes sense and is of some help

Robin,

I cant find silicone grease anywhere, Halfords, Motor Factors etc,

where did you get it from ?

John

We use it at work, which doesn't help you I know. I know RS sell it and I think places like Maplins sell it.

The stuff we use (DC4 ) is made by Dow Corning but any silicone grease will do.

If you get really stuck I'll look at posting a tube to you.

Thanks Robin,

I looked at Maplin website, they have the silicone grease, I will be there when they open in the morning. Thanks for your help.

Maplin is a bit more expensive, £2.99 for 50g or £3.99 for 70g, but thats well worth it if it stops the leak (not a serious leak, just a few drips, but over a long period, enough to wet the passenger seat.)

Thanks

Where exactlt did you smear the grease......honest...this is a serious question???

I think he means where the rubber gasket of the T-top meets the rubber gasket of the body, in like a dogs leg fashion, at least thats where I think the problem lies. I have just done mine, will wait for a good rain to see if it worked.

Cheers
