So far i have HKS induction kit and decat pipes, HKS intercoolers, Mongoose exhaust, Apexi AVC-R boost controller. The car is manual and the boost controller has not yet been set up as my new clutch needs to be fitted first. I am looking for a final power figure of about 450-500BHP.

What power can the stock internals handle as i really do not want to rebuild the engine?

Do i need to get bigger injectors i.e 555cc?

What turbos should i get? Is getting my original ones modified an option?

Is the best option to get a chip custom mapped by a company once all the parts are on? or can u keep the original chip and get a piggy back ecu system like the Greddy one?

hows your gearbox? I think a few people have blown them on here when going for extra power, I know its something that is first on my list to do because it feels a bit ropey atm.

Auto boxes struggle if you up the power too much but AFAIK the manual boxes are much stronger. Correct me if I'm wrong though :)

You really really really need to do something about your fuel. An Apexi S-AFC or an upgraded chip would be a very good idea, otherwise as you'll kill your engine if you try and run any seriuos boost.

Have a look at my sig for some other upgrade ideas......;)

Hi Adam, just a couple of quick questions. Are u still running the original chip and just modifying the fuelling using the Apexi SAFC?

Also what is the driveability like using the AP racing clutch and what power can it take? I bought an uprated clutch that is rated to 450 BHP from Smithy but am considering getting one that will handle 500Bhp.

I know that before i set up the boost controller i will have to modify the fuelling but i do not know what to buy i.e just an apexi SAFC or do i need a chip to go with it?

I'm just using the S-AFC with the standard chip. Lots of people told me it would'nt work, but it seems to be ok!! I'll know for sure this weekend, cos my new loom is being fitted as we speak so I'll be able to wind the boost up without half the cylinders packing up:rolleyes:

The clutch is fine for normal driving, but it can be a bit noisy, and I would'nt want to sit in too many traffic jams with it.....

Bazz, Does that mean you have an uprated clutch for sale as I am definately after one ? Sorry to jump in there but just in case as I'm looking for one !

I would definately get the fuelling sorted if you haven't already done so and are running more than standard boost ! Or leave it at standard boost till everything is on properly and working and then get it mapped all at the same time, saves doing it a few times as you add extra bits and they'll only charge you once !

Running lean is very very risky on a turbocharged engine and detonation is sometimes hard to hear or notice !

For small raises in boost any of the major tuners like Jim Wolf Technology, Mines, Stillen etc do a chip which will remove the speed and boost limiter and adjust the fuelling and timing for a little extra boost !

I have a Mines VX-ROM for when I first raised the boost and now I want more I have added an S-AFC II to give me fine adjustment of the fuel map and will be adding an ITC to adjust the timing slightly !

Olly.
