Hey folks,

I think I've narrowed down my coolant leak to the radiator drain plug on the bottom of the rad. It leaks loads after a run out, but when I top it up cold there's no leakage.

I tried tightening the wingnut up but it justs spins and spins

Has anyone replaced this part? What do I need to do? And are Nissan likely to stock it?

Cheers :)

Pete

If the wingnut spins then it's either the wingnut has broken or stripped, or the endtank has stripped the thread (basically it's a hollow wingnut with a hole in that should drain when you line it up with the spout thing.. But it should unscrew all the way eventually)..

Not sure if you can get the drain plug seperate from a rad :S

Ahh fook :(

I'm gonna get a nice new uprated radiator anyway cos of the cracked plastic top inlet shitbag thing.

Any sort of quick fix possible til I do? - Can I just coat the whole drain plug in some sort of gluey gunk and hope it stops ;) ?

You could try some plastic padding stuff - if you dont ever want to use the rad again or drain it using that plug!

If the plug will come out then try a bit of insulation tape round the thread and screw it back in.

Might just seal it tighter and no mess to remove if you change your mind.
