Warning for newbies...........

Nissan UK get parts form Japan, double the price and sell them to ppl in the UK.

TOP TIP -

It's far cheaper to order Nissan OEM parts from Japan and have them imported.

Make this sticky ?:D

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you order OEM parts directly from Japan? I desperately need a new engine wiring loom for my Jap spec Zed. Local dealer quoted £405 - delivery: "some time in early Aug". What a service....NOT! Do you have a any contact details in Japan. Would love not to be screwed by Nissan UK once again.

Thanks

Seem to recollect that this part is approx $260 from Concept Z in the US

Wont the Right Hand Drive / Left Hand Drive difference be a problem.

Stuart

i got some prices from Nissan today.

fecking ridiculous.

quote from my thread on SXOC...

waaaaaahhhhhrrrrgggg. Nissan Prices.

Just priced up the bits to replace al the metal bits (not including the main bumper bar) for the facelift nose.

front splitter kit £150+vat.

two other bits £64+VAT each!!!

Then loads of bits about £10-15 each.

Basicaly about £400+vat to replace all those bits.

Stupid me expecting it to be about £100 LOL.

Oh dumb me I missed one, one was £84!!! so that's £500 then.

I only paid £550 for the car LOL.

Yes and no..

One connector isn't long enough on the US spec harness (PRVR solenoid connector), and one wire runs differently (fuel pump controller signal line, if memory serves).

The 'stub' of the harness is also much longer, so you end up with some excess in the engine bay to tuck out of the way, but it does fit - I did it on mine..

If you can read a wiring diagram (and you need to be pretty confident with them), it's not as hard as it sounds.

Maybe I should start importing looms and modifying them to UK spec then selling them on :D

I spoke to Concept and Courtesy in the US. Both didn't recommend ordering the loom from them for the same reasons you guys mentioned. Bummer because the price they quoted was half what my local Nissan dealer wants, even with delivery and duty!

Nelson m8 - great idea, but who do we contact?

A garage who regularly orders parts from Japan ;)

top tip- c above !

see above !;)

Takes 6 weeks delivery tho (unless by plane but expensive then)

Well guys, after trying all the usual suppliers in the UK, could'nt locate the wiring loom. So thought I'd try my luck with a work contact in Yokahama. He kindly popped down to the local Nissan dealer and they've got some in stock. And the best bit.....it's 268 including taxes and airfreight, compared to 405 my local dealer wanted. Talk about RIP-OFF and inflated profits!!!

Shame there isn't an "official "means of importing parts directly from Japan like the States.
