I need to replace one, but when I went to Nissan they where not very helpful and said there where 2 wheel brearings for the rear wheel. One with a hub and one with out. The one without is £118 + VAT .

Does any one know anything about this and explaine it a little.

the wheel bearing sits in its own housing that bolts directly to the hub assembly. cost me £100 from Mike Feeney

I recently bought N/S/R bearing, it was made by SKF and consists the bearing and bearing housing. It cost me £80 from a motor factor, this was trade price, can u not say u work in the motor trade to get a discount, like maybee u work for a dealer etc as usually the trade shop dont ask for a trade order line so u get the discount.

I will go to my work 2 nite and get the part number and post it on here for u if it helps.

Got a price at my Nissan dealer same price as yours-15%.

Sorry I just read your post properly there, when I sourced my bearing, no-one asked me about the different types of bearing u r quoting, they told me they are all the same. In the manual i have it shows u what looks like the bearing i have in the box ready to fit in the near future, I have pics of it if it helps.

If you can get the number off the old bearing, ring a bearing company (like leicester bearing company) and it will be a fraction of the cost. There are only 2 or 3 main manufacturers of bearings. All you need are the numbers.

I tried to put the pics on here but it says they are too big....Do u have a mail add i can send them too.

Cheers John Crisp (i am online for the next few hours if it helps)

Thats the part.

Thanks John.

Where did you get it from and how much? Do you know what is needed to install it. People on TT.net say it has to be pressed into the hub.

Stuart

Stuart,

I can get the phone number of the company that supplied it for me in the morn, it cost me £80.

As for doing the job, I havent yet attempted it yet but I am lucky as I work in a garage with all a press, but yes i'd think that after stripping the bearing down the hub would need to be pressed into the new bearing after the old bearing track was removed.

I replaced the nsf wheelbearing on my Z just after I bought it and it was a nightmare as I work on commercial vehicles so everything is big.......i hate working on cars but I really grudge paying someone like Nissan to have an apprentice repair my car and charge me a fortune.

Do u not have a workshop manual, even if u dont work on the car yourself it allows u too see what is needed b4 the car goes to a garage and u will know if they are ripping u off.
