You should perhaps be thinking about the waterpump and maybe the efficiency of the radiator - could be be gunged up inside ?

If it was the water pump should,nt it be leaking or useing water?

It dosen,t thats why I figured it was not the pump. Jana

The water pump could lose efficiency.

Have you tried a simple flush out of the cooling system and fill it completely with fresh water and coolent?

I read some where that antifreeze and engine coolent when when it gets old actually makes things worse.

Stuart

As said previously - completely flush out system.

You want to end up with clear water running through your rad.

Not brown sludge!

Make sure your water pump ,thermostat ,and all hoses are ok.

Make sure your fan is running at correct speed.

And change your temperature sensor - there cheap!

Is the temperature sensor the thermostat? Jana

Thanks for all the advice guy,s I will let you know what happens.I am hoping that the new clutch fan is not operating correctly or it just needs flushed. I have already replaced the thermostat. I hate to see what a water pump will run me not to mention the installment.

Thanks Jana:)

Jana

No the sensor is the device that makes your temp. gauge

show engine temp.

Ask another guy with same car as you to show you where it is.

Or go to a garage you can trust and ask them to show you.

You are close to a great source of parts at courtesyparts.com

Do you use them - I send off every 2/3 months for something!

okay I found out it is not the sensor but I also found out it dosen,t get hot if you don,t use the air conditioner.

Jana

Does the Z31 have an auxilliary fan for the aircon? If it does, does it come on when the aircon does? If not it may be flowing hot air onto the radiator.

Just a thought

Ok, just looked on the fast CD and it does have an auxiliary fan. Not 100% sure on the operation but the fan should come on at the front of the car when the aircon is turned on - does it?

Andy
