Anyone done steering rack bushes, my Z has a bad brake shudder above 40 mph and 2 nite i put the car over a pit and rocked the steering.....the rack moves nearly quarter of an inch side to side. Anyway the steering doesnt feel right the more i think about it but there are no clunks/bangs from my car at all over bumps.

Anyone done the bushes for similar reasons?

...I've had bad brake judder - replace all the brake seals - still juddering - turned out to be a deteriorating tie rod bush. After a long run you could see the silicone weeping although the bush looked ok. Last night I replaced it with a poly bush (2nd side tonight) and the judder has gone - well almost, I think the remaining Nissan 'good' tie rod bush is causing what remaining 'feel' there is on braking.

Can't you simply tighten up the steering rack?

good luck

I have recently fitted poly bushes to the tie rods as they were both leaking but am gonna get the ones from Energy Suspension for the rack. I should fit the full bush kit but funds are a bit limited just now.

Cheers again John Crisp
