To anyone out there who posts video clips, what software do you use for video capture? I've been using Ulead VideoStudio 5 for capturing stuff from my camcorder and outputing to video CD. However, this seems a bit clunky and hit and miss for simply capturing video, cutting the bit out of the middle that you want to post and compressing it to a useable Internet format.

Also, what formats, compression, etc, makes for good Internet viewing? Any advice appreciated.

Xvid and DivX are the best ones for size and quality but not every one has them.

Most common are just MPEG or WMV.

There are a few programs which you can use such as Pinnicle or Adobe Premier.
