Yesterday's Leicester Mercury's front page featured a fatal RTA involving a white 300 and a tree. It seems the passenger didn't make it.

I guess it's easy to feel sort of invulnerable in a Z; it being so heavy and strong, but trees almost always come off best.

Perhaps we should all spare a moment to hope the driver pulls through ok !

Ditto.

It said at time of printing, that the police hadnt established whether the driver was the legal owner, if they were car thieves its poetic justice, if not its a sad loss.

Something tells me they were going some too :(

Shame someone had to lose their life over a bit of madness if that's the case :(

Does anyone from the surrounding area have a paper or something. Would like to find out who it is and just really hope it's not someone from here.

I live just around the corner from where this happened and I drive an identical 300 to the one involved. I spent a lot of time the day it appeared on the paper replying to friends who sent me messages thinking it was me. I actually drove past the police where they had blocked the road off at about 1am and had no idea what had happened.

Having gone past the scene of the accident and studied the photo on the paper it appears the driver musthave been really pushing the car and lost control. I think he must have been doing near 100mhp due to the damage to the tree and the state of the car. The car was a real mess with no paasenger side left at all.

I have a larger picture than the one on the link and I will post this monday when I am back at work and have access to the file.

I drove dpwn the road a couple of days later. Looked like they had clipped the kerb. (marked out by police)must have been going some cause the car landed a long way from the kerb it clipped.

Must take a big hit to throw the engine from the car too
