Does anyone know what type of oil is the best for the Z?

I have 5L of Comma XTeck 5W-30 semi synthetic oil, will this do the job ok?

Thanks.

it seems to be that most people on here go for 10w 60, but i was going to ask the same question to check. :D

Castrol rs 10/60 seems to be the most popular around here.

I think 5/30 is a bit skinny mate

:)

Any idea where I can get hold of this. Tried everywhere locally without success. (Hemel Hempstead)

Any help gratefully appreciated,

Simon:

Homebrew, I've got 25 litres of 5/30 but noone seems to be really sure. I've read some stuff about it and I'm still not sure.

According to one source it's for colder countries like Sweden but nobody will say "don't use it".

Thanks everyone for the advice. I think I will use either the 10/60 or 10/40 next time I have a oil change.

Had NASCAR 20w50 fully synthetic recommended by a company that rebuilds turbos.

I would say the 20 was a little too thick for the Z engine:eek:

But mine has done 180,000 miles.

Wow 180K! Any advance?

I keep wondering how much life my non oil burning 132k original turbos one has left in it

0W40 rules!

Sounds promising. My first set of turbos were replaced at 127k.

out of interest what were your turbos replaced for. was it just the rear seals, or an internal mechanical problem?

just that a bearing in one of mine appears to have gone already, and its only supposed to have done 37000 miles! so either its been clocked or its just been badly looked after.

When mine were replaced at 127k the seals were OK. There was certainly no blue smoke. But one had sized due to build up of carbon and other crap
