I just wanted to know if the tyre fix stuff in a can is any good. I'm thinking of getting rid of the spare in exchange for some bass and don't want to be caught out. If it easier to carry round a can instead, then that's what I'll do. I'm running on 18's if that makes a difference.

Cheers

I used 2 cans for my rear 255x40x17's.

It works okay but Kwik Fit said that they couldnt repair the tyre after this stuff was used, though I reckon that was normal "Buy a new one from us" type b*llocks. Oh and it has the same speed limitation as the space saver so you wont lose nothing there.

I've used it on bike tyres and it is OK. Thing is on a huge tyre like on the Z there may not be enough air in one can to inflate the tyre - might be worth checking the destructions on the can. Soultion I 'spose is two cans ....

A few years ago there used to be this green goop called Oko. The idea was that you bunged it in the tyre before you got a puncture. I never tried it because I was slightly concerned about it putting wheels out of balance and with the sort of antics I used to get up to on a bike you didn't need that additional worry. Anyone know what happened to it ?

New TVRs come with TyreWeld instead of a spare !

Kwik Fit were half right - without a major clean up exercise, it isn't actually possible to find the puncture as the tyre weld welds it up (but not well enough to leave it that way).

A further disadvantage is that it won't help you if you get a major blow out and the tyre rips itself up (which was the only puncture type I ever had on my Z - fun !).
