Has anyone else got this problem.

When i start up the mean machine, for the first time, the gear change from first to second only happens after about 5000rpm. Then it also immedietely goes from second to third. When its warmed up, it changed smoothly throughout. It's been like that since i got it.

Next thing. Do you think its worth getting the car serviced from Nissan. They're charging about £260 and they call that the full service but all they really change is the oil, oil filter, brake fluid and antifreeze. They say they check everything else but it really doesn't seem worth it. The reason i was going to take it to them is that i've got a clicking noise when i turn which is coming from the front. They said they'd check it out for me.

Anyone know anywhere in south london where i could get it checked from someone who i could trust to do the job properly????

i had my car serviced for about 40 squid, oil oil filter and a few bits

the gearbox could need a bearing change and new oil,

Mines a bit stiff into 2nd when cold. See previous post about whining box.

Will try suggestion about bushings. Also got some synthetic gear oil to try.
