Fitting Front Shocks

Gonna fit new front shocks this weekend , from those of you that have done this before , is there anything I should watch out for or any handy tips ???

Watch out for cuckoos that can be seen at this time of year.

Never eat yellow snow ;)

Hmmm - jack the whole front of the car up not just each side at a time - if you don't the anti-roll bar will try to hold the jacked side compressed. The bottom bolt can be tricky to get a decent socket onto - better if you can use a ring spanner with a bar to lever with - its rather tight! I'd make sure you have a new set of boots - these are usually absolutely shot and useless. Oh and make sure the gasket that sits between the top of the strut and the strut tower is correctly placed or you may get some squeaking over bumps. You may also have a bit of a job undoing the top nut that holds the top plate to the strut shaft. When you put the shock back in, make sure it goes BEHIND the brake line too - otherwise you'll be taking it all apart again ;)

Just a couple of things then LOL

HTH

CheerZ,

Andy

Cheers for that Andy

Me thinks Paul and Chris have had the targa's of today and been in the sun to long LOL :p :D

If I've had the targa's off getting some sun I've been very sad indeed.

The Z hasn't left my drive for months :D

Well fitted the new shocks at the weekend and what a pig !!!!

Getting the shocks on and off the car was easy the hard bit was to seperate the shocks from the springs , broke two 8 mil spanners in the end took an angle grinder to the old shocks and cut them in half :D

So now the car is driving great and does not jump all over the road , just waiting for the new Pirelli P7000's to arrive and she is sorted
