My alternator has been bugging me for ages now... Has a constant screech (not the belt though) and everytime any load is applied, i.e. turn on the lights, etc, the noise gets louder.

 

Now, its definitely not belt related, and when I took the alternator out to see what was going on, its clear that it's coming from inside, perhaps knackered bearings? Since if I turned the pulley by hand, it makes a kind of quiet squeel.

 

Any suggestions on where I could get a re-con'd one or another one for a decent price, since a new one is mega bucks!
