There is plenty on the subject here - do a search!

you'll certainly get better throttle response.

Geoff.

on a N/A car you should see some improvement in power, but not as much as a TT.

the 300zx is not in the catalyst emmission database and should therefore be tested as a non cat car. so as long as you are under 3.5% CO & 1200ppm HC you will be ok. (which you should be unless you have a problem! ;) )

I'd do a search on http://www.twinturbo.net on this subject- I remember reading that removing the cats from an N/A will actually harm the performance of your car.

Apprarently, some sort of back-pressure is still required (for low-end torque?)

TT owners can get away with this because the turbos themselves create some back-pressure.

LOL!! here we go again!! :D

Is it good then to take off the cats in an N/A or not?

I have my '90 NA decatted with a new pipe.

I am sure there will be an argument that the new pipe could deal with any problems that the decatting brought up, but (and its the main but) it runs much better, better throttle response, takes off better and certainly feels (through my patented arse dynometer) to have more power.
