Yeah Jez it twas me,

now i have "the monster" off SteveE (thanx mate) im no longer in the market for one.

A point of note, is it the SP or the PE as i heard last week they had stopped making the SP for the 2+2. A point for anyone that is interested as the PE at 645 is a great pipe!

another quick question you guys have braught stuff in fron the states what arwe the duties? for import?

as i am keen on bringing stuff in but the import is a very grey area for anyone whom asks.

Customs and excise will charge you 17.5% to cover vat and then the post office will charge 6% on top of this for the joy of paying the initial 17.5%. Postage and packing is not included in this equation so you need to make sure it is declared seoerate on the packaging if you are charged duty on the p&p you can reclaim this by writting to HMC&E

For me it normally works out to be + VAT + duty +£10-£15 post admin fee.

Duty ranges 3-6% on most car parts, you can phone customs and ask how much duty will be charge on various items. Ie. An ECU will have a different rate to brakes.

I have found that postage and packing is usually included with car parts and not extra.

The exchage rate was $1.5 to the £, but at the moment it's really bad, only 1.4. So, it's not such a good deal, but nearly always cheaper than the UK!

You have to be careful to order for a right hand drive car, a 2+2 and a Turbo 300... which they don't have, but most parts are universal. It's also best to mention the fuel we have when ordering an ecu upgrade. 95RON, which is 91 octane in the US.

Jez.

thanks guys.
