Probably the best option is PFR6B-11B but that is now discontinued courtesy in the states might still have some. PFR6B-11C is the UK spec plug.

Do a search for opinions on other plugs, been loads of stuff about it but can't be arse going into it all again!

Dan,

My two-penny-worth is recommending you do a bit of research if considering switching. I have a '94 TT import and had quite a bit of trouble when I switched away from the Japanese standard PFR6B-11 - would not pull in higher revs (missing). It was cured by reverting back to the same type as original.

I thought I would be safe going for the UK type plug, but this proved not to be the case for my car.

Ciao, Geoff

Hi Mark,

It was the UK spec plug for a TT (-11c) & set as per the manual (I assume - done by garage).

Upon import, the car was set up for UK fuel on a dyno with the original plugs (-11). Shortly after I had a 60,000 service done for peace of mind, and quickly after started have the problem discribed, until the plug spec was changed back to the Japanese spec plug.

Ciao, Geoff

Hi Mate,

Probably the reason it was missing is that the gap was set to wide, about 0.92mm is about right!

What happens is at high boost the force of the mixture entering the chamber, blows the spark out. If you narrow the Gap it stops this happening!

Hi All,

Just to let you know I've got a shipment of Denso Iridiums on the way - already have the NGK's in stock. Also keep the standard PFR6B-11 in stock at discounted price.

I wanna do a discount page for the 300zx.co.uk chaps but can't seem to get any joy out of Craig. Can anyone have a word??

Cheers!!

Hi Hemz

Can you get the PFR6B-11B or the PFR7B-11B, and how much would they be?

Hi Hemz,

Can i buy 6 x PFR6B-11C from you?

What price have you got?

Dan

Mark,

There isn't a PFR7B-11B (or C), I checked with NGK. There official line is that the only colder plug with identical protrusion to PFR6B-11B is R7235-8 but that's an 8 heat range!

According to NGK technical BKR*EIX-11 and BKR*EVX-11 both have longer protrusion, but the pics someone posted on TT net don't back that up.

Do you know the difference in length (seat to top of electrode) between -11B & -11C? The ZFR7F-11 I've got now are 2mm longer than -11C. I've got a mate to get me a BKR7EVX-11 to look at and see what the difference is there.

Hi John,

don't know the difference in length offpat, did you ask NGK UK or USA about the pfr7b-11b?

Hi Topless,

I list them on at £11.50 inc vat and carriage on the site. I'll be selling them in bunches of six for less than that if I can get 300zx.co.uk to link to a specials page...please go to the website if you want to place an order http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk . Cheers!

NGK UK deny all knowledge of the PFR6B-11B and I believe they are no longer available from NGK in the US - may still be some stock flloating around though.

The R7235-8 weighs in at NGK RRP £18.24+VAT although I can do them for a fair bit less.

My personal experience on the BKR6EIX-11 Iridium - it works very well for me and works out a fair bit cheaper than Plats. BKR7EIX-11 on the way from the US as is IK20, IK24 and IK27.

Cheers!

RobH

Jeez!

I'm not having much luck today - sorry Topless/Dan, the message was aimed at Danhock - not you....

Topless: as previous post for the PFR6B-11B and afaik PFR7B-11B (not listed by NGK UK) :-(

Cheers!

RobH

Mark,

Asked NGK US and UK about alternatives. AFAIK PFR7B-11B was never produced (the 6 is US cold, their standard is a 5).

US were pretty unhelpful really, just saying you can use most of the other plugs but the design is not the same - oh really?!

Once I've finished playing with maps I'll probably try the BKR7EVX or IX just depending on which looks like the closest match.

Anyone got an old PFR6B-11B to measure up for comparison?
