3 insurance companies for the youngan's to stay away from !

There's been talk about insurance companies yet again recently, and although I can't give advice on which to opt for... I can tell you 3 to stay well clear from ! They gave the best prices at the time, but they've screwed me over relentlessly !

I've even got one of the numbers for complaints on the memory dial !

Prestige Insurance: Screwed up my cover, they don't know which each department is doing, as I was constantly getting bad letters with contradicting information after the manager has told me on the phone that the problem is sorted. I've been with them for 3 years....had no claims...and yet only have the first year no-claims bonus that I joined them with. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT ONE FIGURE !???

Sabre: Promised me TPF&T cover for my Z at 1.4k....(cheapest at the time)..cover notes support this... but when the certificate arrives, it's stated as Third Party Only.

Obviously don't even care about their image, as the certificate is on shoddy paper...ripped and with ink smudged. Looks like they've been passing it round the departments having a laugh !

Allen & Allen: This is the big one... it the father company to the former two. Also include names like lloyds (who screwed me also). Basically, if your documents come in an envelope with a stamp containing the words Allen & Allen Group... RIP IT UP AND FIND ANOTHER ! ! !

Jayen - sorry for the bad air on the board, but extremely foul tempered and pennyless due to the ****ing blood-sucking manipulating *****oles ! ! !

(really tired of living in this sorry excuse for a country)

I know that it has been said before but Tesco are fantastic for insurance.

Arian Flux a sports car specialist said they cant get anywhere near the £1000 from Tesco and the interest on it because I pay monthly is the lowest I have ever seen for car insurance.

Someone here said to stay away from Tesco (can't remember who it was). I shall phone them to find out what they can offer, but if that person is reading this... what was the reason you said to steer clear of them?

Thanks

Jayen

...tried Adrian flux then being quoted £240 less, was with Tesco for all of last year (it was priviledge actuall re-badged Tesco). When it came time to renew my insurance, the company behind Tesco had changed - and on hearing that mine was a jap import (thought I'd better re-confirm the point), they upped the quote by £200. I then shopped round, and the co-op was the cheapest at £364 fully comp, any miles, bus use, me and wife driving. I have to add, I'm 50, with 70% ncd, its a na not tt, and my wife and son insure through the co-op too (discount).

It;s worth mentioning that a couple of colleagues also insure through Tescos - ie Priveledge and have had real bad experiences.

good luck

I have spent many hours trying to get the best price for Insurance, and was until recently insured with Bell Direct. Unfortunately the SVA has taken too long to come around, and hence the insurance has been cancelled. However I would never use them, because the price quoted when I was still driving my BMW was not the price I ended up paying.

Anyway I have found a new company Ashbourne Insurance who have arranged cover with Norwich Union at £1510, this was for 400BHP Jap Import, and because my car is a 1994, there is no additional premium for it being an import as the car is identical to the UK version. So any 300ZX from 1990 to 1994, Norwich Union do not make a distinction.

The premium for most of you will be lower, but I wont go into that.

Also try Greenlight Insurance on 01277 263030.

Thanks for the great info guys !

for me...the day has gone from bad to worse and am now in a situation where I might lose my Z forever ! frown.gif

Basically, my only option is to put my neck on the chopping block in a 'double or nothing' attempt.

My question.... does anyone here have experience of companies that offer 'Fleet Insurance'.I know I'm likely to be laughed at by most company's out there (as being 22 it's something I'm used to now anyhow) but does anyone know of one that might offer me cover?
