I've had my car waiting for a box swap at a mate's garage for three months now - he's decided he doesn't want to do the job now (****er!!). Problem is I have to get it to Luke in Nottingham (about 80 miles) and I don't wanna drive it (won't change past second gear (Auto), no MOT, no tax etc).
Any suggestions how I can get the AA to shift it for me? AFAIK they won't move it if it's capable of moving on its own no matter how dumb it would be to drive it. I have Relay membership but need a way to disable the autobox completely once I've moved it to someone else's driveway. It can't be anything too obvious (they might be able to fix it by some miracle) and really needs to be gearbox related as I'll need to explain why there's clutch, flywheel, gearbox etc etc in the boot/passenger seat.
I thought about maybe disconnecting the autobox controller unit but I s'pose that will just stop it starting altogether.

Any advice appreciated as ever....
