Hello to everyone,

I'm brand new to the forum as I want a Z32 as soon as I've saved up the 6000 or so British Euros to go and indulge myself.

I've seen one in Exchange & Mart with an awesome spec for nest to no money. Does it belong to anyone on here? There are images on the sie and it looks feckin' gorgeous. The description is:

"1990(H) NISSAN 300 Auto, SUPERCHIPPED, 76000 miles, £3,495, Panther Black, Full UK Spec 300ZX, 3.0 Twin Turbo, Targa Convertible; Auto(see other adds for details) PLUS superchipped to around 400bhp, massive torque increase, 18inch alloys, low profile, wider rear tyres (265s). 2x240W amp 1x400W amp for sub-woofer, Pioneer stereo with remote. Stainless Steel exhaust with enlarged quad outlets. Leaves standard 300ZX standing. 12 month MOT, 6 months tax remaining. Simply an incredible car at a stupidly low price for quick sale; selling to become non-car owner, otherwise Id keep it. Price reduced due to time wasters - this car is very, very cheap because I want to get rid of it now. Buyer collects. Trde welcome"

Look forward to meeting some of you at a meet in the South West sometime.....

Hiya mate. Welcome aboard.

"Superchipped to 400bhp" sh1t - that IS a SUPERchip alright!! and as far as I know, no such thing. So I'd certainly ask questions about that. It does sound a bit sketchy tbh dude....but I'm a suspicious person........maybe it is bargain of the year?

Go check it out and see what you think, but I'll warn you, if you don't know your stuff about 300's it could end up a costly and painful experience.

Good luck,

Do a search on Superchip ;)

If he's had timewasters at that money there really must be something not right IMHO.

I may be wrong, it's just a gut instinct.

Tim

Tim, he did say DUE to timewasters it is now that money so who knows? But do agree with you about the gut instinct thing.

And before anyone says, I know there is a superchip!!!! but not of one that takes it to 400bhp.

I would be much happier buying from someone off of here.

Thats a very good point re timewasters.

There are pics on http://www.evildespot.com I really want a manual but it seemed too good to be true that it was so cheap.

:)

Well, the 18" Khans have got to be worth a grand.

If you have money after the purchase to correct anything thats wrong, I'd say look at it and maybe go for it! It is cheap.

Whats your mechanical knowledge of the 300? If not much, then take someone that does know!

It can't hurt to go and have a look at it and take someone with you who knows what problems to look for. Maybe it is a genuine bargain! :)

But "British Euros"? Best not to start that argument again, but hopefully not in my lifetime! :D

My mechanical knowledge is pretty good but I don't have any specific knowledge on the Z32. Before my , ahem, J-reg 1.4 Clio that I have now, I had an S13 200SX so have a good idea on what to look for overall with a turbo'd car.

I take it the car in the ad doesn't belong to anyone on this forum then.

James, thanks for that. I'm going to contact the guy to have a look at the weekend.

I love the bit "the cars not actually washed in these pictures" lmffao hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lets see you want to sell a car yet cant be bothered cleaning it to sell it?lol

And look at the garden lol, looks like a hillbilly.

be very carefull with these cars at those prices, they can be very expensive to get 100% in working condition.

Hey franco,

I was interested in that car about two mnths ago, i emailed the guy (and yes 300z he is a hillbilly lol) and he sent me description and a website where he has quite a few pics of it, i'll find it out if you want it.

He was asking £6500 back then , so fook he's desperate to sell.

I didnt go and drive it because i found the one i have now, but it certainly looks a hell of a bargain now!

I'd get down there asap mate cus at that price it will be gone next week for sure. DO IT NOW!:D

Well lets face it which owner of a Zed would sell it for that money. So there's something not right.

Check it out and see.

Geoff.

Franco, it costs nothing to look, so i say go look, I'd also take someone else (either someone off here or a mechanically minded mate) as when your buying its far to easy to fall in love with the first heap of rust you lay eyes on!!! I know ive been there!! (no, not with my current zed!:D )

Judging by the pics id say the clock doesnt work, so that may be a very small bargaining tool!!! but it looks quite nice, but having said that cars always look better in pictures.

Where is the car, theres bound to be someone local who will go and have a butchers with you.

Best of Luck

Thanks for all the help/advice guys  . One of my mates in the SXOC (200SX Club) knows a couple of guys who have Z32's and one of them rebuilt his himself apparently so he's going to ask him if he's free on Sat/Sun to have a look.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Are any of you guys in the South West, i.e. Cheltenham/Bristol/Gloucester area?

  • 3 weeks later...

Sold to me and it's pukka!

:D

Matty.

I didn't end up going to see the motor in the end as I really want a manual and didn't fancy my chances at reselling it for a profit as all the cars on Autotrader/Exchange & Mart seem to habg around there for a while.

Haven't seen in on iXm any more so wondered if anyone here had bought it. :)

Pics are in my section fella, take a look, very much a bargain.

Went through checks no problem, no problems on Consult either!

:D

Matty.

Matty, bizzarre! I can't believed you were writing a reply on the same tpoic at the same time.

Glad to hear it was a good one, when are you taking me for a burn seeing as I missed out?!

LMAO!!

Next time your in Birmingham mate, no problem!!

The car is solid, the only thing it needs is a new leather interior (only rears really) and I can pick one of them up for £500 that I saved on the price, I got it in the end for £3,000!!

Bargain!

Matty.

Funnily enough I'm in B'ham from time to time as I run a business from Cheltenham, just 40 munutes South of you!

In all seriousness though I'd love to come along next time there's a meet nearby as I can't wait to be able to justify spending the 6k on a manual.....

Matty, just look at the pics in your rides section and it does indeed look the goolies. bodywork seems really clean. It'll be interesting to see what it makes on a dyno as the guy you bought it from was claiming something like 380bhp with just a superchip and exhaust....

I'm not going to get onto the auto manual debate but I don't think there is much of a difference in performance IMHO.....

Some will say different, manuals are a bit more involved that auto's but autos are a 'lazy mans' car, leaves one foot and one hand free to do other things, i.e. not spill that drink of pop you really need to drink, or answer your mobile phone whilst going round an island (not that I would suggest you do this!)

It's my second auto, I would have liked a manual but as I say I don't think it matters performance wise, although others will beg to differ...

My ideal Z would be a SWB (2-seater) manual but 'hens teeth' springs to mind.

Hey, I have an Auto 2+2 and it rocks, what more do you need to know!! :D

Maybe see you at the next meet and don't be put off by an autobox.....
