The gear stick should just screw off, but I think it has lock tight on it or something.

This is exactly what happened to me when I had to get engine/gearbox out.

As Stuart says, it is loctited onto the shaft. I buggered up my knob (LOL) getting it off, so I just made myself a shiny new Aluminium one to replace it LOL.

Robert.

Hiya Dave, how is the new short shift working, as i am interested in getting one. Was it easy to fit, how many hours. Also how much was it.

Hi Ray

i got it from Luke @ the z centre for 50 squids!!

took about an hour to remove [bottom nuts a real payne]

and completly knackered stock knob in process you will not believe how tight it is screwed on [the thread glue didnt help!]

I WILL GET BACK TO YOU ON REFITMENT TIME AS I AM JUST GOING TO DO IT

cheers

Dave:rolleyes:

Luke has not got any more of these at the moment as no one seems to be sending the exchange ones back, so he has nothing to modify.

I got my name on the waiting list though.

Let us know how it goes Dave. Cheers

Just finished and also added new disc player!

i found it easier then removal but still very fiddlely

[only dropped nut twice!!] have not been out as yet due to all rear boot trim missing for 10 disc fitment so cannot comment on drivability!!!--------but the shift feels stiffer!!!!!!!!!!![is that right?]

sent mine back to luke 2day so at least 1 will b available shortly

cheers

Dave:D
