Anybody use slick 50 in their Z?

I had a RX7 before and couldnt use slick50 in it. Is it ok in a Z?

Is it worth doing ?

Also is it worth putting the auto box slick50 in?

Also the book says use 5/40 or 10/40 fully synthentic but ive seen on here that alot of you use 10/60. Is that thicker and why use it ? Also, is any make of filter better or worse?

W/B pleasey weasey

NO dont use it

There has been a lot of trouble over the years about this stuff and there is quite a bit of info on the web.

To cut a long story short Slick 50 contains PTFE and the company who own the patent on PTFE (Dupont) say it should never be used in petrol engines. Unfortunatly thay cannot stop people like slick 50 from selling the stuff as an oil additive, they did try in court but lost the case..

A good quality semi or fully synthetic oil far exceeds any spec than Nissan ever intended for this engine, you dont need to add any of this rubbish.

i use extralube ZX1 in mine friction eliminator. this does not contain P.T.F.E. i have used it in all my cars, gearboxes and back axles is the best especially if you got a whining one, noise just dissappears within a couple of mins driving.

i noticed 3 miles peg gallon per fill up in the zed, now 22-24 mpg was 18-21. that is in a modded Twin turbo, never had a sticking tappet since as i only use mine once a month these days, due to many mods going on. running temp lowered. oil temp reduced considerably. does take a lot longer to warm up now. less friction = less heat.

also Halfords now stock this additive

put as much as you like in but the guidelines are 10% of the liquid contemt 500ml per 5litres i always use slightly more you will need two containers full for the car around £17 each though.
