Well, after much deliberation, thought, and research (about 5mins worth!), I have finally decided to leave this sh1t pit of a country and emmigrate to where I can have a better lifestyle and standard of living etc to the land down under. I have contacted a migration agency who are dealing with my case right now and have said that all I need now is a job offer (to make up the points) then i can go and live and work down there. Upon talking to various friends and colleagues, they all seem to know of someone who is leaving or left this country to go to somewhere better were their not hamered for tax or have to put up with ridiculous backward English laws.

Thats about 25 people who I know directly or indirectly who are leaving or considering it. So my question really is, how many of you in the wider audience out there have contemplated leaving have decided to or know of anyone going. It just seems that this country is losing an awfull lot of skilled and professional talent to countries abroad (only to be replaced by scum from around the world who cant talk english and scrounge of our system).

Oh by the way,

Anyone want to buy my zed?. Yes I know wrong forum but if I was gonna stay then I would of paid my dues but considering above I decided not to. Can't really take it with me so it has to go. One of the best looked after zeds on here, 1991 import H plate, ~78,000miles. £5k ono. Please PM me at areeves@btconnect.com if interested.

my mrs wants to go too. id have to ship the zed tho :D ;)

find out if they need any Merc tech's out there for me :D

I think they will take anyone who has a skill and is benificial to their society so why not try?.

My sister and brother-in-law are going to Austrialia, he is a barber of which is the second most wanted skill in Austrialia at the mo.

I wont be taking my zed but I have been thinking about taking my Jeep over. Apparently they are quite expensive over there. My brother-in-law again knows someone with a transport company that ships stuff around the globe. I'm currently waiting to see how much he'll charge for all my gear plus my Jeep.

Cheers

I've been over there a few times (my brother use to live in New Zealand) and all the cars are expense there, great country though. Lots of RX7.

John, what parts have you been to?. I've been looking around but think that Christchurch is one of the nicest cities there?. So might aim towards there unless I get a job offer elsewhere.

Stayed mainly in Auckland, which is nice and drove to Rotarua (don’t know how to spell it) which is very smelly. Weather is better than here, but it does rain a bit.

Did you see that program on BBC2 the other night?

Forgotten what its called but they were relocating a family to New Zealand.

Looked great and they got a big house with loads of land for sod all cash.

I didn't see the program but heard about it. Hopefully will be able to go out there and buy a house outright with the equity I have in my current home. House prices there are quite good depending on where your going to settle, although Auckland is supposed to be quite expensive now.

yeah, we saw that chris. thats we she wants us to go now!! my 13 yr old daughter aint too impressed though LOL!! :D

When I went on holiday to Spain, the bartender in one of the pubs was a New New Zealander he said that the weather is a lot nicer than in the UK dispite people saying its the same.

Also he asked us what type of house we could get with £100,000 and we told him, a modest 3 bedroom semi detached. You can get a 5 bedroom detached for that in New Zealand.

Some one at work goes there playing Billiards every year and he says the roads are empty. You can drive for hours and not see another car.

Another person (cant remember who) went on holiday with his wife and went shopping in the town centre and asked where every one was because it was so empty. She was told that this is a normal Saturday.

I must say you will get a reputation for sheep sh**ging when you live in a country where the people are out numbered by sheep. :D

If that is what you want to do, do it. I dont blame you. I wish I could do it myself.

Most houses in Auckland only have a small electic fire for when it gets a bit cold in winter.

Well I did emigrate, but came back 4 months later! The Wife (spit) got homesick! Do it you wont regret it, just make sure you set a time limit, say a year before you even consider returning.
