Where can I get an aftermarket oil cooler kit for a jap spec SWB auto box and how much?

Featured Replies

I can sell you a UK 300ZX TT gearbox oil cooler for £20. Then you just need some hoses. Should bolt straight on I reckon.

If not, Luke sells the kit for just over £100.

Thanks

The oil cooler for the gearbox is inside the radiator.

Mark,

Seem to rememver you were going to try a mocal 25 row cooler in your's (for the enigne), did it fit OK?

Cheers

Hi John,

I didn't go for the 25 row in the end, in an attempt to reign my finances back in:eek: I ended up with the thermostatically controlled feed to the oil cooler, removing the pressure fed system!

The 19 row is meant to fit, should do as the stock UK one is 19 row, but I plan on getting an Oil temp montior in the future so it might be interesting to see how far it cools the oil! Another downside with 25 row is that it decreases the flow of air to the radiator, so the oil might be cooler and water not so cool:eek:

If it was the oil cooler for the gearbox you were looking for, yes you did;) unless your rad is mounted in the boot;)

the lines came out of the gear box and ran down to a rad near the diff ... from what i can remeber the diff cooler is near the top of the diff ? ... i remeber lookin at it before but was not interested as was trying to get clutch in !!!!

why do garages not want to do this ... it's not to bad.. apart from bolts sheering on the turbo elbow (cos they melted) it really is not such a bad job ... a hell of a lot easier to do that my 5 turbo

any ways i thinks we r getting away fro the thread sorry mate

AUTOs use a cooler in the radiator

MANUALs use the cooler near the diff

Simple really - RTFQ ;)

CheerZ,

Andy
