Under very hard acceleration...there is detonation (pinking noise????)

 

I have ugraded turbos/Blitz Realize TT zorst/HKS induction/Iridium Plugs running 1.0-1.1 Bar (read from Blitz Boost Gauge). How can I cure this...the car is running fine (at moment). I also had a full engine rebuild about 12 months ago!!!!!!

Do you have a catch can fitted? as I am fitting one next week,don't think anyone here has done it yet.???

on my other cars i have still working out where i am to put one in my zed,

might be a custom job to have it mounted on top of the radiator or under a guard

Er, what's a catch can?:confused:

a catch can is an oil catch can

 

catch's oil vapour from blow by in the pcv valves and air inlet,

inturn which causes detonation

Mac, I have a oil catch can fitted to my Zed...what do you want to know ?

problem with that is the EGT's go through the roof and off boost performance will be shite, just turn the boost down and get to the real problem.

Aha nice one Lymon.

 

Just want to know if it works on a Z,there seems to be a little confusion with a couple of guys over here thinking it won't.

Mac, I'm running a breather system with catchcan similar to Stillen's design.

Although the catchcan doesn't seem to "catch" much oil I got rid of the oil in the intercoolers and intake pipes.

 

It's most benificial on the track, but I haven't taken my car there lately.
