Whats the best colour for a 300ZX? Does the Red fade and are there any rust problems?

 

Again I'm new to this my current car is a Cavalier 2ltr with 190bhp I look forward to the 300ZX TT Manual if any good cheap ones exist

So yellow is for hairdressers huh!! lol

To me :

yello is the most eye catching colour ,

silver is great , standard Z looks best in silver,

red is ok but doesnt really compliment the Z,

blue is ok but looks a bit un-sporty,

grey is ok but quite boring,

white is just boring,

black doesnt do anything for a Z and i dont really look twice at it - my father has black cars but then he's an undertaker! :D

Red has too strong an affiliation with ferrari, which is a gentle sweeping curvy marque, very pretty, BUT DEFINATELY NOT MEAN! Buy a red Zed and everyone will think that You really wanted a Ferrari but didn't have the cash! (Possible single exception being MACCA - who could have bought the entire Maranello factory for les than his ZED! :) )

 

Silver and Gun Metal aren't too bad, a bit neutral and understated, still doesn't quite go with the MEAN theme.

 

White is just SHITE, sorry, but this is the basic colour of every 'L' model Ford, Vauxhall, Skoda....c'mon be serious, who every heard of a white sports car!

 

Yellow? Sorry, but no! You loose. If you own a Diablo SV, then maybe, but only if you're gay! A Yellow Z is as close to a hairdresser mobile as you can get (and I don't care what mods you've got on it, spend some money on paint you dickhead!)

 

So that leaves, the MEAN Colour, the colour of choice, the colour that shows DIRT better than all the others, but gives the best contrast to shiny alloys and becomes a smooth shining sliver of dark obsidian when combined with dark tint windows.

 

BLACK, my friends, is the one true colour of the ZED. Black like the night, dark and forboding - a warning to all who dare. MEAN and uncompromising, purposeful and full of dangerous intent. Show the world you don't care, drive a BIG BLACK NASTY ZED with the loudest Exhaust money can buy.

It's black I tells ya.

 

Silver never looks really clean... doesn't get a full on deep shine like black.

Red looks too cheap and plastic. Jap Ferrari wannabee, as Nig said.

White is reserved for MFI furniture.

Yellow... you're driving a freakin' banana for crying out loud!

Grey - it's black but it's faded, and hence it looks nasty.

 

Deepest darkest blue... I could almost accept. But only if it's sooo deep it looks black, except in bright sunlight.

 

This is a mean mother of a car - you don't want women looking at it saying: ooh isn't she pretty! You want everyone to be afraid! If you go tearing up behind some slow moving traffic you want the guy in front to look in his mirror and say: holy f*ck, what the h*ll is that thing?!.. then immediately dive into the nearest ditch to get out of your way! Having to pull over to blow chunks because your car is some vile yellow rubbish isn't the same thing.

 

Maybe a bit brutal. But hey - it's Friday.
