I've just bought a zx300 tt.. so i'm new to this site....

I needed a radiator for my new car...so I tried a second hand place in Stockton on tees (Middlesborough) called JAP PARTS.. they quoted me £250, I then telephoned the nissan dealer and was quoted £271 for a brand new one....When I got the quote off the nissan dealer, I telephoned JAP PARTS back to explain how much nissan had quoted me, and I was told off the lad that owned the place..... "if people are daft enough to pay his prices he will continue selling them at these prices" So I thought I'd warn you's all of this company incase any of you's were thinking of buying something from there...... I've since getting my radiator repaired for £100.

I have some comment to make I really love this forum and a lot of the people on it are geniune and caring

I have felt that I haven't been able to name and shame as the whole thing got out of hand not by my doing. I didn't say anything

The attitude on this forum by some people is "he ain't done me no harm so what's the problem".

It cost me financially & emotionally and I never want to go there again

I would like a voice, to put my opinion across so others can read it without it getting deleted off the forum again. So everyone is informed from all sides.

This could be moderated fairly, so it is factual and detached.

All information good and bad should be available to everyone, so everyone can make up their own minds.

My only thought on all the above is that you should do as watchdog et al do. If there is a complaint about a person or company, and it is to be posted, then the person or company concerned should be given the opportunity to reply. A one sided complaint is bound to be biased to some degree. just my humble opinion

We have been there and done that mate. It just turns into a massive argument.

Maybe a voting section like they have on download.com where you get to give a percentage vote and a comment. In the comment if you are going to say something good or bad about the comany you need to supply proof with it.

Maybe one of the moderators with an unbiased opinon will want to arrange something :D ?

I think this will be the easiest way to solve this problem.

I queried them for R33 GTR front brakes and was quoted £780 with dics (2nd hand obviously) which is steep compared to how much they sell for normally. I also sent them cash in post because they assured me they had an NA propshaft but three weeks later they had to return my money (fortunately, coz i must've foned them a thousand times) because i was told they couldn't find it in their yard.

Last week my dad bought an auto gearbox of them for his Toyota Camry and they charged him £550 inc delivery which is a way too expensive for a 2nd hand and it doesn't have any guarantee either. Its my mistake because i never warned him about them and couldn't source one for him either bcoz too busy working.

Hope it does last him some time. Mind you he paid £275 fitting on top at the local garage. But there's a place in Essex which charges £450 FITTED for the same gearbox with 10k miles or 1 year warranty.

This is just to give you guys an idea on how expensive these peeps realy are and if the reason for charging sky-high prices is "better quality" than why don't they ever guarantee their parts.

"Ammar"

I contacted these people fpr a ptu for my last z, they wanted 175 quid off me too, which i thought ridiculous, also they wanted 60 quid for honda prelude wipers ???? so expensive i could buy brand new for a hundred, i would not bother using such an expensive firm:mad:

Hi all someone told me about this thread in the sw-cc forum and thought i would add my bit of info about the company.

I had off them what was suppost to be a fully working and tested engine for £700 inc delivery. When it arrved it was very dirty and oily. We cleaned it up and got it into the car started it all up and guess what .. Head gasket gone.. so i had to strip all the engine out again skim the head and skim the block cos it was in a very bad way. We got it all back togeather but the water was not being pumped around, we checked the water pump and there was no fins to push the water around. Japparts refused to give me a refund for the engine because they said the head gasket was not covered in the 28 day warrenty. So for £700 i got a pile of scrap really, got it working now but it looksl ike the piston rings have gone :(

I will be taking them to the small claim court shortly...

Just thought i would add my little bit.

Whenever buying off a 'scrappie' it's a buyer be aware job. Most of them are a bit 'dodgy' (i.e. they bought the car as a scrapper if it's got the bit you want they'll sell you it, although to be fair they have no idea if it's working or not). When my auto box packed in I phoned around everywhere for a repair/replacement,eventually found one from "Mr. Dodgy scrappies' in the autotrader, it worked, £400, quids in,if it hadn't worked I guess that I'd be struggling to get my money back, thats life.

I don't see any harm whatsoever in people posting their experience of a retailer/garage etc. For goodness sake we're only a forum so lets not take it all so damn seriously!!!!

Geoff.
