Clutch fluid

Sorry for the rather pathetic question;- The manual says use dot3 fluid for the clutch, am i right in thinking dot4 is fine to use? If memory serves me correctly it's dot5 that's different?

    u can go higher but not lower ... i think that dot 5 is synthetic and will not mix ... u would have to flush the old fluid out
