I've got an auto 90 tt auto import still using a kmh speedo, and it was fine and dandy up until recently.

when the auto switch is in 'a/t' position, it won't change up into second.If i put the switch in 'hold' its ok. So I foolishly decided to put an autobox additive in with the atf. The result? I now have no overdrive (ie i have to cruise in 3rd gear) .

But....if i'm cruising at about 55mph the revs will drop to a normal level if i take my foot off the accelerator for a few seconds.

Another side effect is that when i boot it in 'power' mode, power kicks in for a split second then revs really high without accelerating, yet when i floor it out of power mode its fine.

Am i making sense????

I've had a few non educated thoughts;

1. could it b the atf fluid level?? I've replaced it twice since since

Its been acting weird.

2. Line pressure solenoid faulty?

3. Throttle position sensor faulty?

4. Slipping clutch pack??? is this possible?

5. speed sensor?

Thanks in advance fellas

:confused:

Just spoken to an autobox 'specialist' in the north west, he reckons it's a burnt out overdrive. £1200 recon . Is he pullin' my pisser or what????

NO, but phone round you should may be able to get it cheaper.

Where abouts was this specialist? I could give you the number of a few places to try round your area. Do you own a grey Z?

Did you go past a Red Z which was broken down on Tuesday I think it was.

No I was in my Red Z when mine conked out, and a grey Z drove past without a wave, honk or even pull over to help a fellow Zer :(
