What's the difference between the HKS AFR and the HKS S-AFR apart from £180 ?

Also what's the best site for info on electronics, i.e. EVC's & AFR's ? Before I start looking at prices I wouldn't mind reading up on what theses actually do and also what extra features they have.

I'm currently looking at these two for the not too distant future but don't; want anything too flash with loads of extras.

HKS S-AFR Fuel controller £275.00

HKS EVC Boost Controller £395.00

Hi Stu,

how you doin m8? cheque's in the post today......soz about the delay, completely forgot about it:D

I think HKS EVC V is the coolest Boost controller available in the market but don't think anybody's fitted one yet.

From what I have heard, Blitz SBC ID II is the best (features and performance wise) but I don't personally like the looks of it.

Apex'i AVC-R isn't bad either

Don't know the difference between S-AFR and AFR-but S-AFR is probably a Super AFR

"Ammar"

AFR will change the fueling throughout the entire rev range by the same amount - super afr you can set it diffently at up to (I think) 11 different rpm points.

Boost controller - only one IMO - Greddy Profec E-01 ;) Dogs b0ll0x ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

Stu,

was that £395.00 for the EVC V with the separate screen?

My AVC-R may have packed-up :( and I'm considering the Greddy E-01 or HKS EVC V as possible replacements.

Dave

Obviously people have their favourites, but I also would like to know why !?

OK the Greddy seems to be more expensive, but does it do more or better than the Apexi?, which seems to be a bargain at around £400. I'm looking at this mod too, but can't find too much FACT about any of these.

So come on all you guys who have boost controllers, lets have a real informative discussion, so we can learn what to save our pennies for.

Ta!

I have these and love them;)

Don't have as many features as the Greddy, but they are very good;)

Dave,

I couldn't get any info or even a picture, all I got was the name and the price.

That's why I was looking for a site that has info on them.

Where did you guys buy yours from ?

I have the EVC 5,looks and performs excellent, but they all do mostly the same job,be warned, the EVC5 comes with Japanese instructions and is total bollox to work out(beats me why they dont print it in english considering how many are sold here!)but it so happens that i have got my hands on the english translation and fitting instructions, all 14 pages(easy to set up with this info)with a revised/updated set up by Mr Ohtsuki at HKS,soon as i have time i will post it all up or if someone would like for me to mail it to them they could put it up on there site etc would be handy for others if fitting thier own.;)

Tony,

how much did you pay for it and where did you get it from (if you don't mind me asking?)

Any pics of it installed in your Z?

Cheerz

Dave

Any one got any first hand knowledge on the Apexi ones?

(I'm not sure if any of the references made already refer as I don't recognise all the model numbers yet!)

Plus, MAC,

this is the 2 part Blitz kit, isn't it. Do you need both halves to make it work? and doesn't it cost like, er LOADS!?

Hi Nigel,

Blitz IDII and Blitz Power Meter are two separate units and cost a fortune but complement each other with aweome performance apparaently. They are both 1/2 din size.

Stuart: for pictures and brief info on these products:

But for performance with safety, are there any real decisions to be made - surely it's a question of setting it right and you're off? - why would at be worth spending over a grand when there are bits of kit available for around £400 (alledgedly)

I need to know! please if any of you have any comments...

Nige as Ammar says they both seperate units that can read oil, volts etc if you buy the link lead for around £30.

At the end of the day yes you need to set any controller up correctly.

They all do the same job,Its just down to what you like bit like Ice really;)

DaveW this is the HKS install i have, display unit on left of console, bottom right is the controll unit, above that turbo timer;)

that's a lovely setup Tony:)

I would love to have HKS EVC V in my Z too. Is installing one of these a nightmare???

"Ammar"

Ammar,to install would not be to difficult,i was present when it was done, the guy who did it did scrape his arms n knuckles a bit(common thing with a Z:D )plus you could allways copy mine under bonnet so to speak,if you do it yourself i have the English instructions i can copy and send to you;) ,Tony
