Hi guys, hope you are all well.

Just out of interest....

Is there any reason that GPS and PPS don't have a section in this forum ?

I mean we have:

AndyZ for 2nd hand Parts

Smithy for new parts

Bob for Ice and security

Jeff for servicing and repairs

But we have no one in the following categories:

Bodywork

tuning

Do you think Latz or Johnny and Peter would be up for their own sections. I'm sure they would get a lot more business for the rest of us guys if we got to know them and their work a little more.

Can you see where I'm going with this ?.

Don't Macca it's not me and has nothing to do with your rear bumper. I haven't see it yet, but I'm sure it's a gem :D

OK I can sort this thread before it gets litigious.

Simply state the name of the company(ies) that you choose to deal with.

Do it like this: (for eg)

Name of Company.

What they did.

Happy / Unhappy.

Don't elaborate any more, just those bits of info, then turn on your private messages facility and let people who may be interested in that company or that service PM you. When they do tell them *exactly* your story and let them make up their mind.

That is sort of what happens on gtr.co.uk and it keeps the place for the most part free from tuner-war.

for the record, a similar proposal was offered to johnny long before the new forum came along, and he wasnt interested, thought i was being out of order.

i offered to act a group buy payment escrow service for the forum, so that he knew the money would be available and not have to chase people individually, and people would know that their money was safe until the products were ready to ship

i offered to do this for a 1% commission that would help fund the site.

this was about the same time as the breather kit deal came about

also, at that time, i paid for my breather kit.

however, mine was never ordered, and johnny even maintains that i had not paid. i supplied dates to trace the money which went by bank transfer, but nothing happened.

i am in no way trying to dis-respect johnny or gps, as he has certainly done some good deals for people, without question, but there is more to our history than this, and it has been his choice to stay away.

he has had my phone number provided a number of times, and he is just as capable of calling me as i am him, but he is obviously not too bothered about it.

i dont know about some of you people, but the sun i recognise shines in the sky.....

i suppose, what it comes down to, is that most people expect something for nothing

there are people that are constantly offering deals and products, but cant even make the effort to join as a member

now that to me shows what their real intentions are to the "community"

from day one, i have had the community first, everything else second.

i have had had to take legal advice on numerous occasions, and had to defend everyones right to speak their mind and protect freedom of speech

i have a nice little collection of legal threats from various people, mostly companies that someone has complained about online

when a person/company comes here trying to make money out of you all by plying their wares, then i do not think it unreasonable for them to AT LEAST become a member

I tottaly agree with you about being a paid member.

I don't know the history of the companies in question so I guess I was the wrong person to start this debate.

Appologies for the disturbance I may have caused :( .

you dont have to apologise

thats what the forum is all about

there is a lot of history on the board, and a lot of current members will have no idea of the things that have happened in the past

it takes a new thread like this to bring it up from time to time, and give fresh views on the issues

there is good and bad feedback on all companies, and people are all free to make their own minds up, but if you dont hear any bad about someone, then you could easily be mistaken for thinking a company have a 100% good record when they may not have

Never a dull moment here is there, how do i miss these threads for so long???

Reckon i dont press the veiw new posts button hard enough!!
