I'm off work in pain!!

I played football for the company on Wednesday evening and went for a 50-50 ball with the goalkeeper and smashed my left knee up pretty badly, no good!!

Was at hospital until 4am getting it sorted, am now on crutches in a heavy strapping (can't have cast as my knee and surrounding area are still swelling!!) but on the plus side........

.....The pain killers are great and it's a compensatable injury ;) as I was representing work at the time (££££!)

So I have to go back on Wednesday to have it looked at again, assuming the swelling has gone down so they can see what's up!

And then more than likely an operation, i.e. camera, cutting bits etc..... :(

My first 'real' injury in 15 years of playing football, apart from the broken hand, cracked jaw, 30 odd stitches in 5 cuts and gashes and numerous others bumps and bruises!!! ;)

Just thought I would let you all know.........not that I am after sympathy or anything........but it really does hurt.......

Matty.

Hi Matty,

Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I've got two people from my team off injured at the moment. One of them has a similar injury, but was caused by a high double footed tackle :0

Stuart

Matty..........I wish you a quick recovery dude!

I at least want to see that post count go up in your current condition.......having nothing else to do but surf on here all day!

All the best mate.

Will find out Wednesday when and what will be happening, that's only if the swelling has gone down, it's a so painfull even with the pain killers I'm on.......which are very good! :D

Am worried about it to be honest, I don't do hospitals or 'going under the knife' very well at all...... :(

So I had to rejoin and lost my old post count........ ;)

I need to shift my Rover Coupe, anyone?? Didn't think so.......LOL

Matty.

All the best MAtty, let's hope you're ordeal isn't *too* painful, and think of all the bits you can buy for the 300 with the compo! ;)

I'd recommend a course of Japanese Performance to take your mind off it, whilst your foot's up! :D

As for this:

Strange that. I have played hundreds of rugby games and never really been injured.

I have broken my nose and knocked a tooth out. But like you Warren I finished the match first. It was only a little bit of blood. ;)

If you where playing for a Saturday or Sunday league team, its compensation time too. You dont know it but all amature football and rugby teams have to have insurance to pay for any medical costs and any missed wages. :D

Stuart

Matty did you manage to find that chap you were looking for? I never heard back from you?

Funny you mention that, the extraction is happening in the next few weeks!!

And all being well I should have a bank full and someone ;) is going to sell there Z to me.......

I have been up there already, just to check it out and the same guy is there and still selling from the house (the street name you supplied) Some of the heavies (uncle Eddies friends) are going up in the next few weeks to get me my cash back.

Thanks for the info mate, there is a drink in it for you when I get my cash back.

Matty.
