GROUP BUY on PCV and breather parts - smoking turbos? READ THIS!

Following on from another smokey turbo thread...

Firstly, can I just say I can NOT manage this group buy - I will happily manage the correspondence with courtesy but after my latest $1000 bashing from them I can't afford to stump up the cash....

The parts required are:-

Z32PCV-TT0590 Z32 PCV Hose Kit - Turbo 05/90 and up $49.20

2 x 11810-00002 PCV Valve - Z32 $8.61

This comes to $66.42 BUT you can get a discount by quoting a TTnet membership number. This converts to £41.71 at the CURRENT exchange rate. Don't forget there will be a shipping charge, VAT and duty to pay on these items ;)

Place your names below if you're interested - who has a Credit card with lots of room on it then??? :D

CheerZ,

Andy

You'll be putting photos up next!!  ;)

Just wanted to put this back near the top as I want to make sure that the 5 I'm still waiting for see it when they come back online!

If anyone else is interested, there's still time! :D

In an ideal world I'd get this ordered today, but it seems more likely to be tomorrow now. :(

Right, these have now been ordered. I also ordered for the 3 people I haven't heard back from, so I'll have to hope they haven't changed their minds! :D

The hose kits are $40. The PCV valves are $8 each. Shipping is $60 and I've ordered 11 hose kits.

I imagine there'll be import duty and VAT to add to that, plus onward shipping in the UK. Once I have totals, I'll let people know.

thats brilliant dave!

how long til they get here?

jaz

For reasons I don't quite understand, they're shipping on Wednesday and they should take 4 or 5 business days to arrive. So we won't get them in time for next weekend, but the weekend after should be fine.

The reason is that they don't have enough stock of 3 of the 5 hoses. They're hopeful that they should be in their delivery today.

do you have a cost worked out yet? my car is due to be serviced on 19th and id like to get them in then ;) just looking for cheque book

I won't be able to do a final cost until I find out whether we get hit for import duty and VAT and then how much they cost to post in the UK.

I can either collect payment once I've sent them out, and trust everyone to send me the money when asked, or I can ask for cheques now, for more than I think it'll be, and send out refunds when I know the totals.

I'd prefer to do the former, unless everyone thinks that's a really bad idea! :D

Well anyone who doesn't live in the Dark Ages and has Internet Banking can easily transfer the dosh straight to your account, if you say, PM everyone with your sort code and account number.

Much easier than cheques, letters, stamps etc ....

Ah. Well, hopefully everyone else has internet banking! :)

I've never bothered setting mine up for some reason.

yuh internet banking is a great idea,

I can hit send once I have your bank details and a price :)

Id just really like to get them before 19th, its not a major deal I guess if they don't get here by then.

Yeah internet banking is the answer on this one. You can even go into your branch to transfer money so anyone who doesn't have it can do that - much better than having to deal with PAPER - YUK!!!!! :D

Dave - the details you'll need to give are:

Account number

Account name

Bank name

Sort code

Can't think of anything else. Paypall has the disadvantage that they charge a percentage per transaction....

CheerZ,

Andy

Actually I had to come back and edit this and urge everyone who is thinking of sending their bank details over the internet please DON'T. It's a horrendous security risk. Even if you know that everyone you are sending to (people or companies) are as pukka as a very pukka thing, e-mails are insecure and prey to zillions of pimply faced hackers all over the place.

Unless, of course, you are experienced at PGP or similar or trust https. Stick to cheques!

OTOH, Dave, if you wanted to let people send you money across the net, then you could take a look at http://www.fastpay.com

It's from NatWest so it's in £ and should be pukka and doesn't cost anything for you to sign up and receive money. It costs people 20p (I think) to send.

Cheers - Gio

I think I'll include my bank details in the packages when I send them out. When I know the total costs, I'll let everyone know, and they can then either send me a cheque or do a direct transfer.

I'll trust everyone to pay up. :)

One more thing, can the people who haven't sent me their address please do so, otherwise there may be further delays.

Really appreciate all this dave :)

I'll have a can of ice cold beer waiting for you at billing, and if everyone does the same, you'll be wasted! :D

Phone banking's pretty secure - I've been transferring money that way for years !

I'll still need your banking details but I could always phone you for those too ?

Cheers !

konrad

I think I'm waiting for addresses from the following:

Cos

Brian Corish

There's no particular rush as apparently the kits shipped yesterday.

Not sure about Billing yet. If I don't make it, just give those cans of beer to Craig to go with all the others he's likely to get! :D

They've just arrived! :)

Unfortunately we did get hit for VAT, import duty and UPS charges, but I suppose that was fairly inevitable. We didn't get charged on the shipping though, for some reason. The charges were around £93.

I'll check the delivery later and make sure everything's there and I'll hopefully send out the packages tomorrow.

So, for those who haven't sent me an address yet - now would be a good time! :D

I'll include my payment details in the packages and I'll let you all know how much to send me when I've worked it all out.

Dave, I'd be interested to know the UPS charges and import duty. Did they give a percentage (for the duty, I mean)?

TIA - Gio

Total order value = $592

Shipping = $60

Import VAT = £72.52

Duties = £10.74

Brokerage Surcharges (UPS's fee to take my money off me!) = £10

Total = £93.26

B*gger! It looks like we did get VAT on the shipping after all. :-(

I reckon it works out vaguely at $592 @ 1.615$ to the £ = £366.56

Duty is 10.74, which is 3% of £366.56 (ish)

VAT on the total + the shipping + the duty = 17.5% of £414.40 = £72.52

Don't you just love customs and excise ?

Probably still cheaper than getting the kit over here though ?

Cheers Dave !

konrad

I don't mind the import duty too much. I do object to the VAT though. What value has anyone in this country added to the order?

Thanks Dave - to make everyone who did this smugger than a very smug thing, the Nissan prices are:

PCV Valve £17.65 each

PCV Valve Hose RH £9.30

PCV Valve Hose LH £15.80

Hose Blow By Driver £8.10

Hose Blow by Passenger £12.40

Plus VAT

So the equivalent of the kit (if I've got the right hoses) is £96.12

Cheers - Gio
