Car running like poo again

This morning the Zed was being a bitch :(

When I started it from cold the engine was idling at 1500rpm.

Then when putting my foot down slightly there was next to no accelleration and a sucking noise from the engine that got louder the more I put my foot down, the revs were going up but there was very little power.

There was also a slight smell of fuel coming through the vents.

Then when stopped at traffic lights the idle was all over the shop from 500rpm up to 1000rpm and back down again and the whole car was shaking.

The boost gauge was also reading one bar higher than normal at idle.

When I was reversing into a parking space, with a cold engine the car was nearly bouncing itself backwards.

After an hour or so when I went to leave, the car was running fine, but I still had a bit of the sucking noise that I often get when the car is cold.

The car has been so good recently :(

Any ideas?

Eric........have you had a good look around the engine bay to see if any vacuum hoses have popped off?

I have looked and can't see anything amiss.

It's not the easiest engine bay to look round ;)

I shall have another look later.

The one that would pop off most on mine before I cable tied it on was the bottom one (of the 2) just by the fuel pump, kinda behind it. This would cause mine to backfire, lose power and allsorts.

Is it one of the four big pipes (sorry for being so technical) ;)

No man, they're only narrow, about 7-8 mm, sandwiched between the battery and fuel filter, an electrical connector at the bottom and 2 of these pipes above.

If you think its one of the 4 big pipes, I suppose just check they're all secure and tight, check jubilee clips.

I'll have a look now, thanks :D

Checked it.

All pipes seem to be ok :(

No, I haven't yet.

I will try and do one tomorrow, see if it shows anything up.

I might be running in safety boost, it would explain the crap 0-60 time I'm getting even when the car is running well (or as well as it normally runs anyway.)

I've also been told the sucking noise could be a boost leak from an intercooler pipe, I need to get the car to Zedworld for a check up, but with no job at the mo it's difficult to afford any work that needs doing.

I know my rear pads are worn (due to the sqeeling when braking) and I think my front discs are warped as after a good hard braking session the steering wheel vibrates under braking.

Once the brakes have cooled this goes away.

:( Whhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh! :(

So much work needed and so little money, still when money does start coming in it'll go on my baby :)
