Sounds about right - Helix Ultra for Ferrari road cars is usually 10W60 I think. The 60 is to maintain a reasonable viscosity at high temps. in a performance engine.

Nelson , just checked that site but i couldnt see xtralube zx1 mentioned, might have missed it tho.

I do know it has no ptfe in it like slick50 has which is supposed to be bad.

Also that site said oil additives have the same ingredients as synthetic oil, so if it has no ptfe in it it cant be bad for engine can it? , possibly just a waste of money!

I use Catrol RS (10w60) in my TT. I believe that SE use the same oil (from their catalogue).

It can be hard to find but I buy it by the 25 litre drum (much cheaper) direct from castrol.

If anybody is interested in buying it by the drum then I can order it for you and get it shipped direct to you.

ZX1 from Demontweeks. Its not an oil additive, the oil is the medium it uses to reach the metal components.Castrol 10/60 and Millers 10/60,have used both, and found both to be the best out there for a Z,.

£20 for 4ltrs,great price,is that deliverd.

What about Shell 5/30? Willl the 30 make it rattle a bit?

Too thin at high temps for a ZX TT. Nissan stated 10w40, therefore don't go lower than the "40". The "10" bit refers to viscosity when cold - the lower the better for winter use. But 0W40 may still be a bit thin for a ZX so 5W40 Shell Helix is probably a better bet. I use that with no probs - no noise and good oil pressure when hot.

For high mileage or highly tuned engines it is better to get a higher second number - say 5w50 or even 60 (hence many use CAstrol RS 10w60) but fuel economy may suffer with oil too thick.

Read Oilman's thread in "sticky" posts for all the answers ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
