MASS related Hicas question.....

I've heard the Hicas system is quite heavy...my question is If I get a lockout kit (which I assume locks the subframes in a fixed forward position) could I then remove the rest of the Hicas system and save on some MASS.....;)

The car is to be used primarily as a dragger, so I'm not overly concerned about the handling benefits or drawbacks, but it would be nice to lose a chunk of weight I dont need.

If you just remove the rear bt and replace it with the Stillen kit for instance, the gain is probably not worth it, but if ou remove the system from theengine bay right through to the back, it is worth over 20 kilos (im probably mistaken lol)

if you want to drag, get a cusco LSD supposedly good for half a second over the 1/4 mile alone.

yip was reading about the stillen kit ... u can simply put it the bar that replaces the hicas rack.... + a hydralic coupler which keeps it intact.. for ease of fitting. and if u want u can remove all the hicas gibbins. i think they said it was 8kg ..... ages ago that i read it though

sorry mate u prob right with the weight .... i was only refering to the hydralics after u have the hicas rack removed

Cheers:)
