The 300zx failed on one item

- Excessive play in rear steering-

Anybody had any experience of this or know whats involved

to fix it. Are there any bushes or wear items to replace?

Any advice appreciated.

Could be anything. Could be ball joint, could be bearings or bushes.

Mark, two area`s can wear both at either end of the steering arm

The end nearest the wheel is a pain because it is a bush pressed into the lower wishbone and is a bugger to get out and a new one in.

The other end is the knuckle in to the ram assembly these are easy as the arm with new knuckle is available from Nissan £40 (ish) dead easy to swap no need to even take the wheels off.

Jeff thats great - I see what you mean now.

I`ll have a wiggle about on the arm tomorrow and find

out which one it is.

Thanks again for your help.

Mine failed for the same reason last year. I cant remember how much it cost cos I had a bunch of other stuff done at the same time. If I remember tonight I'll find the bill and see what everything cost - if I remember correctly the parts (from middlehursts) were'nt too expensive, but they took a while to fit:(

I can supply you with whatever part you need.......

Complete steering rack (guarenteed) £75

Track rod end with joint £17.50 (guarenteed)

Hope that helps.

Thanks
