The battery in my zed is pooped so obviously I need a new one.

Can anyone tell me what is the right type of battery for an import zed i.e. current capacity etc.

Main dealer told me that for a UK car it would of been £40+vat but could not verify that it would fit an import. Is that so?. Dont really care what type or make of battery I get, as long as its man enough for the job.

No difference between an import or UK spec battery. Just make sure the terminals are round the right way. Many batteries are provided in two models, so double check before you take it away ...

That price seems REALLY good !

I take it they have quoted you for the one listed for an auto z ?

(you need quite a quick to turn the 3 litres over when you can't clutch it, obviously!).

As a comparison I paid about £85 for a Bosch one a couple of years back; although to be fair I did get the uprated listing battery.

Perhaps they just saw me coming ?

This is what I posted recently

In case anyone is interested, just went down my local Motaquip (helpful couple of geezers who know their sh1t) and got a Platinum battery for £31 + VAT. 70AH, 570CCA with a 2 year guarantee. Was interesting to note that they can also supply one with a 4 year guarantee. I was tempted because I thought it would be better, but matey checked and informed me it was an identical battery, but with a National rather than a local return policy, difference would have been about another £15.

Hi,

I got a new battery fitted a few months back at Kwik Fit - they had a chart with the spec required - no problem.

Geoff.

Geoff,

How much did you pay for your batt. at Kwik Fit?.
