79,000 miles ,Jap service hist and a bit of uk. Leather, red, £5995, awseome twinspoke 5 spoke alloys( only 16`s but they look right),not sure the central locking works .think i remember him opening noth sides with the key.Huge spoiler, rmember the drivers seat looking ever so slightly-y`know when the leather creases and lines slightly- but that`s about right for a G1990 isn`t it? Automatic Twin Turbo. No marks on the paintwork, underside of front bumper was a bit scuffer and centre covers on the inside of alloys was a bit flaked off but that`s about right for 1990 isn`t it.Any telltale signs i should look out for when driving it at 2pm?

Check for smoke on acceleration. Some is normal, but the colour and duration are important. Check in the Tech Sec, over to the left here.

Hi Dave

Bet your getting excited eh?

forum a bit quiet at moment where are u ? any where close to B.hAM ? Best thing i can sy is do all the usual checks as with any car but pay attention to all the toys they must all work and give it some on the test drive because this is it if you buy without trying you could get a lemon. There are so many things to check but go with your gut feeling if it dos`nt feel right walk away

there are good ones if u look as a bench mark after looking at 7 or 8 zeds I bought one from Scotland a 1990 TT Jap import all the gear wheels blitz exhaust etc low miles 2 months ago using as a daily driver no probs for £4,500 What a steal!!

I sold my other 1990 jap import 2 years ago for 10 big ones!!

Good Luck Jeff TT

I wont give advice as I got completely ripped off myself, this is more of a tip list! Try and think of the less obvious things (to me anyway):

Roof panels come off and go back on OK.

Electric Windows all work.

All the door locks work.

Check the Alarm.

Search back through the posts and see how to check the HiCAS.

Make sure everything opens and closes.

The Bastard who sold me my car nicked the TAX before I went to pick it up. He even removed the holder from the window so it didn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Best of luck, Phil.

P.S. WATCH THE BACK END!!!

Personally I think 6k is a bit high considering it's a G reg auto that's done 80,000 miles (and more if it's been clocked). For that I'd expect a jap manual with no more than 50,000.

However...if you love it when you take it for a spin...and you feel it's worth the money... then by all means go for it. I'd try a last attempt to knock em down another 500 before handing it over though.

ok, I'm a complete ass ! ! ! Just noticed that this is an old thread that's come back to the top. You've already tried it. GRRRR !

Anyone else having problems with the site? There's red folders all down the page...they're not going back to yellow once I've read them ! ! !

Oh, never noticed those before .... Still have the problem with all the lightbulbs being on at the main page though. I think the UBB s/w has a bug somewhere.

Hey Jeff smile.gif

no mate it`s not an old thread that`s come back to the top this is the second ZX i was going to see at 2pm today, monday.Anti climax really i`m afraid.I told you`s in an earlier post that this first zx i`d seen i put a proposal on simply to make sure my finance company would lend on a ten year old car.Hadn`t had the proposal result back.Got there at 2pm and he told me they wouldn`t.No point in testing it if we both new i wasn`t buying it.Of course the implications of this are that i can only get finance on cars that are 10 years old max at end of agreement.I get cars over 3 years so i can only get cars as late as 1994.You got it-the last year the zed was made. What do you think the odds are on finding a 1994 TT-pretty slim i would have thought.Even all you fellas have got90/91/92`s.So unless i can save up £6000 doesn`t look like i`ll be getting a TT after all. However i still have the Non turbo i tested yesterday that`s 1994 and there is another for £8,500 in manchester (also 1994 with low miles)bummer ay?

Go and see Barclays m8

Or whatever bank you are with.

Try smile.co.uk

or

egg.com

hope you can get the finance sorted m8

94 is not the last year they were made, 94 is the last year they were sold in the uk, they were still made until this year !!

so anything newer than 94 is an import, and there are some around

They were made up until 98/99. You could import one, but turn up a 99 and you will find a lot of jealous people here and it is likely to be quite expensive !

Craig m8, could you change the ChrisF in the rides section of 300zx.co.uk to 'Glen' pleeze smile.gif

Cheerz matey!

Glen

Ill send you a couple of pictures too, as the car has changed a little since those were taken smile.gif

My TT didn`t quite look how it does now You do need to be able to see potential. The guy I bought it off was a trader who had a scare from a Nissan dealer..told him it needed £2k of work to sort out brakes! so hence price As a keen DIYer just knew it was`nt that bad....and it was`nt a set of pads a clean of the calipers and ok does need some discs will do very soon.Engine was fairly clean but I put the work in to get how it is now, as its a daily driver I do wipe it down every 3-4 days only takes 5 mins.Once there clean its easy to keep that way.
