Following my front wheel damage due to a pothole and the subsequent repair job I'm experiencing some steering wheel shake at motorway speed.

I'm probably going to buy a new pair of wheels and the supplier have recommended ET25mm

Is anyone else using this offset?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve!

Depends on the width.

I've got 8.5" wheels with +35mm offset.

Perfect fit, no rubbing.

ET 25 would stick out to much, I think.

P.S. Did you get my email? (like 2 weeks ago or so...)

Hi Maicej,

I did get your email although my home PC has crashed and need some major surgery :-(

The wheels I have ordered are 8.5J with ET 25mm which I need to clear my AP calipers.

Can you resend your email so I can pick it up at work smile.gif

Steve

No stress Steve, it wasn't any urgent matter.

I'll resend it when I get home.

Does offset affect caliper clearance?

On my wheels, the center piece stays the same and

the ring where the tire is mounted moves in or out.

I have split rims though, maybe it's different on one piece wheels.

Don't you know what offset you were running on previously?

Maciej

Maciej,

I have ET35mm but I had to fit some dodgy spacers after I fitted the AP calipers so I could get the clearance.

The supplier tells me that the 8.5J wheels with ET25mm are for the Z and Supra and will give me the correct clearance with the calipers.

The smaller ET number apparently moves the wheel further out and provides more clearance.
