What's the main differences between these peeps ?

I have a Jap Spec

My left side is chipped. Can I fit a uk straight in or do I need to get a Jap spec ?

Don't think it will be too much of a problem. I think the Aus site has an explanation of how to change the earth connection to suit an H3 bulb, so I'm sure it can be done the other way.

Do you mean the headlight glass, Stuart?

That's a good point tony, I can just change the galss can't I.

I may try the bacop foil upgrade while I'm at it.

Yes you can change the glass but you have to split it from the main casing and it's bonded ! Takes about 20mins with a heat gun ... Then you have to stick it back and remake the seal with silicon goo

If we drive on the same side of the road as the Japanese, why is the glass in the headlights different? I would have thought the light was directed in the same way a UK one was. (I've often wondered this)

I think it will be something to to with the labelling required for the regulations in different countries, although I don't remember looking closely enough at a UK spec headlight to verify this. But I do remember looking at one UK car and I was pretty certain at the time that it had one UK and one jap headlight in it.

Cheers for that Andy. So, it's down to red-tape and regulations huh (and not the red tape they put on GTO headlamps!! LMAO!)
