I have to buy new tyres. Can anyone suggest:

1. Good wet weather tyres (Bridgestone S02 ?)

2. What advantage to be gained from larger diameter alloys?

3. What size wheels/tyres should I go for?

All help gratefully received.

bridgestone are rweally good tyres althought they can be expensive

but larger diametre tyres give better grp and with a lower sidewall you get much stiffer tyre ridgidity so it is better for hadeling , plus they do look better ,

go to bridgestones website for techincal development.

Other pointers to consider with larger alloys.

Tyres are blooooody expensive, I have 10X18 on the rear and 9x18 on the front (285's and 245's).

The road noise increases but that also depends on the make of tyre.

The steering is more sensitive to road changes and can pull a little.

Inner wheel arches can suffer. Mine have worn right through.

They look the muts nuts though and give extra grip.

I have tried all sorts of tyres on my standard UK size rims (jap ones are smaller) Eagle F1's are the nuts in both wet and dry & the best is they last for ages!
