Hiya GuyZ,

After all the posts about speeding etc recently, I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Tonight, after setting off from work, I pulled onto the main road towards the motorway. As I approach a *COMPLETELY* blind left hander, with traffic coming from the other direction (40 limit) what do I see? A Fuckin' Police car coming towards me on MY side of the road doing about 70 mph - brakes on, loads of smoke - oh shit, here goes *cringe* up on the curb. If I had not taken this avoiding action, there would have been a serious accident. Yes he did have his blue lights on but no he didn't have the siren on. After shakily setting off again, what should happen but another police car does exactly the same thing again....

Now I know that they have responce times to answer for and such... but what would've happened:-

1) If I had not moved off the road to avoid a serious head on collision.

or,

2) If I had run into a pedestrian on the pavement - even worse, it is a common route for young mums with their children.

It would have ALL probably been my fault.

The thing that makes this situation so bad (if its not bad enough already) is that firstly, they did not even try to slow down but just barged me out of the way and secondly, the first fuckin' PIG (no other way to describe) gave me the wanker sign as he went past!!! frown.gif

All I can say is I hope he's out drinking in Preston tonight wink.gif He doesn't deserve to have a driving license - never mind be in charge (NOT control!!!) of a police vehicle.

In my eyes, some police officers abuse their position in order to drive past the limit of their capabilities.

What can be done? I know that if I called the police they would follow something along the lines of - "We have several of our pigs driving down that road every hour, there is no way we could trace who it was" or "Pigs don't drive like that, they are trained to a very high level"...... BULLSHIT high level frown.gif Normal panda cars with normal (well, as normal as possible for a pig) drivers.

Another point is the time - 5:30 pm on a VERY busy main road with a pedestrian crossing (forgot to mention that one!) on the corner.

Fortunately I was in my 309 NOT the Z - there is no way I would go anywhere near the curb with my alloys so I would now be Zedless frown.gif

You can probably tell I am not at all happy about this. Once was bad enough but twice on the same bend???

CheerZ for listening,

Andy

Sorry to read that Andy,

Listen to this......unforgivable.

About 6 years ago an escort plod responding to a assistance call from his g/friend also plod, came screaming down the road in Princes Risbrough Where my x used to live.

Around a blind bend - on a school crossing in a village, he decided to overtake a row of moving cars.....The 53 year old lady in a metro didn't stand a prayer, she died instantly on impact.

The lady is still missed by her children.

He is still in a panda somwhere.

As one of the first on the seen, being 20 yards away - it was one of the most harrowing / forthinking times of my life.

His girlfriend was 15 miles away in Buckingham by the way.

He no longer works in mid Thames Valley.

A very rememberant harve.

it is a very common thing to see coppers flouting every rule in the highway code when they are on a call

red lights, wrong side of the road, speeding, roadmarkings etc

and they do it at speeds that are too far above safe to even be considered just dangerous...

all in the belief that they are doing there job for us and that makes it alright...

it's well overdue that they were brought to book on it, and i have often considered mounting a video camera in my car ready to catch them in the act and make an example of it

dont get me wrong, i'm not saying they shouldnt react speedily to a call, as one day it could be me or my family that is waiting for them to arrive, but to endanger countless other people with reckless abandonment is out of order

they should still apply caution in built up areas, and not make stupid risky moves as seen by andy.

their job is not a big enough excuse to drive like the people they should be catching

The feckers go through our village even faster than the Ducati's. It's a 30mph limit and I reckon they frequently touch 70. The pavements are about 3' wide and it would only take a drunken old fart (or young one) to stumble out the pub and it would be all over. Not to mention the kids going to school, the cats crossing the road and the people who have to reverse out into oncoming traffic. It's only matter of time ....

Even the on-call firemen are more responsible than the plods.

I have thought the same about having a camera and catch em at it. You could make a complete series of "POLICE STOP KILL" Ioften keep newspaper cutting of crime reports as I am in the security business but have also kept police fatality crash reports and its getting out of control!WE NEED POLICE TO POLICE THE POLICE!

Well after a night of looking back while drinking stella and VRB I still cannot see the point....

Without going into too much detail, my dad died last January, the ambulance took 40 minutes to arrive for a 10 minute journey......

I do NOT care how desparate the situation - human lives should not be in danger!!!!

The real life savers are ambulance drivers - they are the drivers who are REALLY desparate to get to the situation. Why do the police feel they have the right of god???

In January, the ambulance could not get here quick enough - nothing is as important as a human life. I'm sure that if, when the 999 call was made, if the word police was mentioned, they would have been here in a flash.... Just a chance to drive like a fuckin' maniac.....

It is definitely time something was done - I haven't got kids yet but, I know for a fact that if I did, I would be petrified about them going out.

Just to back up what I have said... I once experienced (OK I was pissed wink.gif ) a police car, coming around a corner (in a 30 limit!) completely sideways... Loads of people were out on the streets - pub closing time... This car WAS out of control. Police obviously have a god given right to drive how they want.. IT STINKS....

CheerZ from a not too impressed,

Andy.....

Did any one here about the old woman who was mugged at her front door and her keys taken from her. The police, amblulence was phoned and the council. The ambulence came after 10 mins, the council came after 40 mins to change the locks and police 6 hours later.

Concentrating on what Andy said.... the police take their understanding of 'the law' in their own favour. Does anyone know what measures could be taken (or who to go to) on matters like this?

I mean... the ambulance is a vehicle used in order to pick up an already critically injured patient to a place where their life can hopefully be saved....so they need to be there as quickly as they can... yet they always drive within the regulations (or near-as damnit).

Yet... the police aren't working to that 'life or death' reality... sure they are the ones trying to prevent it reaching that stage... but they look from the perspective of catching the criminals rather than medical assistance (they in fact cause incidents more often than not). It seems that they consider themselves able to break the law because they work solely to catch others in the act of doing so... this say's to me that we'd be better off 'demoting' their label...and instead of allowing them to see themselves as 'the law'. They should be reminded that they 'serve' to 'uphold' the law and so should be renamed from Police to something like 'law abiders'...where others should then be expected to drive from their example.

There's nothing more destructive to a sensible drivers perspective on road safety, when he get's fined and screwed with points on his licence for something that the pigs do on a daily basis at much greater speeds...and in more dangerous environments(speaking from experience)

And who is then also left wide open for the vultures (insurance companies) to pick at the remains.

Anyone for a Z petition - with perhaps a group buy for video camera's which we can use against them exactly the way they use them against us? smile.gif

Actually being serious... I feel so strongly about it...if anyone knows where I could get a decent small video camera at a very good price, (the cheaper the better) then let me know....as I drive around the country quite a bit...and would be more than happy to make a website devoted to a You've been Framed meets Policewatch style campaign.

(as you can see....I've lost all respect for them now)

I was recently driving along a 60 limit road heading down hill into a dip that bends quite sharply to the left.

It's quite a dangerous spot locally and nobody ever overtakes in this dip because you cannot see what's coming the other way.

Imagine my surprise when a police astra came from nowhere and overtook me (I was doing 60)

around the outside of the bend with another car oncoming over the brow of the hill! The other car had to brake sharply and the astra was nearly on two wheels round the bend.

I was so disgusted I flashed him and gave a blast on my horn. He didn't have any lights on either. I half expected him to pull me over for doing it.

I cought up with him only to see him approach a line of stationery traffic and drive past it, around a traffic island, cut through a petrol station forecourt and back onto the main road further ahead in front of the traffic lights that everyone was queing for.

He went straight through the red light on the wrong side of the road (without blue lights on) and dissapeared into the sunset.

I was stunned.

If I had known who to call to complain I would have done but also knew it would be a complete waste of time and only result in the pigs having a good laugh at me down the station.

A very annoyed Chris...

He guys if you are serious i can supply some prices for in car camera equipment.I will make some enquiries Monday and post full details.Without video evidence any complaint would fall on deaf ears for sure.

Nice one Jeff - you bet I'm interested.

Hi,
