Hey people,

 

I'm not a zed owner, I've got a modded mk1 mondeo, but I'm saving for one, furiously

 

The wife's argument against it includes the following...

 

1. Insurance - quotes around £1,800 FC, I pay £1200 for the mondeo anyway.

2. Petrol costs - what sort of mpg do TTs and non-T get? I do 40 miles to and from work a day, most of it free flowing A-road.

3. Breakdown costs.

4. I'd attract too many women.

5. I made 4 up.

 

Theres plenty of good info on insurance on the forum, so could I have some input on the petrol costs?

Back in the day, I took expert advice from some old timers on here on where to get it sorted!

 

Me: "I was going to take it to Silvia Engineering..."

 

Them: "Nooooooo, you don't wanna go there mate, charlatans!"

 

Me: "Oh OK then!"

 

So I took it to a few reputable places, spent money...lots of green and still had a fcuked motor. :D

 

Then took it to SE and heaven above, would you adam and eve it? They fixed it!!! ROFL :D :D

Anyway, here's mine. Glad to see I started as I meant to go on with a big essay! If anyone's interested, it was the TPS!

 

 

 

Anyone else seen this. Opinion appears to be that I need a new Crank Angle Sensor but, at £425.35, I don't want to do this if it isn't going to cure my problem. It's been to Middlehurst Nissan who can't bring up any faults on their equipment. Let me give you a description...

 

Driving along on the motorway when the engine will suddenly die as if it has been switched off. You can floor the throttle to your heart's content or wiggle it about, the car will not come back to life. The only way to restore power is to back off the throttle for at least one second, then reapply it. All is then fine. Backing off the throttle for less than this does not cure the problem.

 

I have even tried switching the ignition off when the problem happens and leaving my foot in the same place on the throttle. Switch the ignition on again after the engine has died for a couple of seconds and restart with the starter or bump start. The problem is still there. Only backing off the throttle for over a second cures it.

 

More recently, the car has started running roughly when cold. It now has an alarming tendency to die when pulling out of junctions before it has warmed up.

 

Any similar problems welcome or suggestions as to where I can obtain a CAS cheaper.

Hi bastards. I've just bought one of these sh1te cars 'coz I was getting scared by the performance of my 200sx. I've removed the engine to save mass but it now goes one hell of a lot slower than it did before. Can anyone tell me where I went wrong?
